A Python update has been pushed, which enables the new tail-call interpreter. This is now supported with GCC 16 to be used and improves the performance for around 5-15% depending on the workload. github.com/python/cpython…

@CachyOS Hey guys! I'm facing a consistent freeze/crash on Age of Empires 4. Exactly at 16-17 mins in-game, it crashes with Xid 109 (CTX SWITCH TIMEOUT) in dmesg. RTX 3060 Ti, Driver 595.58.03. Tried GE-Proton, PCIe Gen3, Re-size BAR off, cleared shaders. Any advice?

@CachyOS Just wondering In the normal repos (aka none v3/v4) you still have the 6.19.10 Kernel which is exploitable via Copy Fail. Will this get any attention soon from you? Old Dell Latitude user here who is not using v3 because the CPU doesn't support it.

We have benchmarked Nyarch against @CachyOS and Windows 11. Here are the results: - On the gaming benchmark, Nyarch totally destroys both CachyOS and Windows - Playing 4K anime, Nyarch ties with CachyOS - On RAM usage we beat CachyOS but lose to Windows

@NyarchLinux Fair benchmark. CachyOS optimizes kernels; Nyarch optimizes the weebflow. We simply weren’t ready for the CatgirlDownloader + 4K anime test suite.

@CachyOS I'm liking this Shelly program so far. Is it a good program for applying regular updates or would you still recommend using cachy-update?

We’ve had access to an engineering sample of the new Framework Laptop 13 Pro for about a month ahead of the announcement, and our biggest takeaway is this: it finally feels like a genuinely premium Framework. The first thing that stood out to us was the build quality. We (1/8)

@inkypinky420 They work automatically OOB in the near future. We added a hardware detection to install fprint if a supported device is found. Additionally if the user sets a fingerprint in KDE/Gnome or fprint then this can be also used for sudo.

@CachyOS This is a great breakdown! I was curious about the Fingerprint reader/feature. I'm sure CachyOS KDE will support it right out-of-the-box, but on all the various DE's and WM's cachy supports during installation, would users have to worry about the fingerprint reader not working?

still give the MacBook Air M1 a slight edge in speaker quality, but that could change once there’s a profile built specifically for this laptop. Overall, the Framework Laptop 13 Pro feels like a truly competitive laptop. The build quality is excellent, the battery life is (7/8)
