@WestsidehsTeach Yes, reading aloud to a group of 8th graders, I got to a sad part of the book. I took a deep breath to keep going, looked up, and they were all crying too. It was such a human moment.

I once had a teacher who cried at the end of “Cyrano de Bergerac” and it was the most memorable experience from high school. I cried in front of my students when one of my colleagues died and I had to tell my class. Have you cried in front of your students? We’re human.
