@BOTB_Leth @O_T_Lee Is eating a contract, while a guy plays elsewhere, considered a salary dump? The whole point of Arenado is that rich teams may still pay most of what he has remaining(even if he isn't worth it)

@O_T_Lee As much as I can't stand Mikolas he takes the ball every five days and even last year he had 15 quality starts. If the Cardinals eat 3/4 of his contract I find it hard to believe that some team desperate for innings couldn't use him. Of course I'm wrong on the internet a lot.

If the #STLCards are viewing Nolan Arenado as mostly a salary dump, then they damn well better find a way to do the same with Mikolas. At least give me something to celebrate this offseason.

After six years the Cardinals are parting ways with Paul Goldschmidt this offseason, per @katiejwoo. Moving on from Goldy will be the first of many sweeping changes across the organization this offseason. A reduction in major-league payroll is expected, with the club planning extensive upgrades to their minor league and player development system. Expect Arenado, Gray, and Helsley to all be shopped this winter. A major reset is on the horizon. #ForTheLou

The Cardinals DO NOT have to do a full tear down. They are choosing to do so because of the almighty bottom line. More importantly, they’re doing so in direct defiance of everything they’ve ever stood for. That should make fans question who this ownership group is now.

My hot take is that the Cardinals will miss Paul Goldschmidt more than they think if he leaves. His instincts/scooping at 1st base is some of the best I've ever seen and I think he saves a lot of runs/errors that don't usually show up in the stat sheet.

Pujols and DeRo, who were teammates with the Cardinals in 2009, on MLB Central. DeRo: "Were you a big video guy? I don't remember you watching a lot of video." Pujols: "That's because I showed up at 1 and you showed up at 3:30."

Really important Memphis prepares him for life in St Louis. Maybe don’t tell him his role, have him suddenly come in from the pen, then start two days later. Or he should get a few weeks off, and then make a start. Oh, and the dude needs to start pitching to contact.
