I always remember this quote somehow: October. This is one of the peculiarly dangerous months to speculate in stocks. The others are July, January, September, April, November, May, March, June, December, August, and February.

VIX to touch 28 in the next few weeks. This is not trading advice. My opinion on trading in these times is available on my TL. Don't burn yourself trying to play with fire. Sabke bas ka nahi is market me khelna.

There are many advantages of ChatGPT. But, you can't have a real discussion with ChatGPT on philosophical matters. It will drain you. It just sticks to mainstream media scripts and dodges anything deeper. It is more like Censored AI. @OpenAI @grok

The smarter you are, the less confident you might feel. A curious case from 1995 shows this perfectly. McArthur Wheeler, a man in Pittsburgh, robbed two banks after rubbing lemon juice on his face, believing it would make him invisible to security cameras. He even smiled at the cameras, convinced his trick would work. The police caught him within hours and when shown the footage he reportedly said “But I wore the juice”. This funny incident caught the attention of psychologists David Dunning and Justin Kruger who were fascinated by the confidence behind such a flawed idea. Their research later defined the Dunning-Kruger effect, which explains how people with very little knowledge often overestimate their abilities because they lack the understanding needed to recognize their own mistakes. And those with real expertise tend to underestimate themselves, aware of the complexities they’ve mastered. In short, the Dunning–Kruger effect explains why people often appear confidently wrong in the modern world and why the truly knowledgeable are often more cautious.

DTC buses don’t even stop at bus stands anymore. They just zoom past while people wave helplessly. Makes me wonder, does DTC have some alternate source of revenue? 🚍 #Delhi @dtchq_delhi

People in 9–5 jobs say their hobbies are music, reading, sports. But do people in music say their hobbies are learning Excel, sending emails, mastering prompts… or even selling?

Pollution is the one thing that truly unites India. Like the famous Surf Excel ad said 'Daag acche hain'. Today, it feels like we have collectively accepted a new tagline: Dhuaan accha hai.

Dear Madam @gupta_rekha, Every winter, we Delhites are left gasping, quite literally, for a breath of clean air. The pollution has reached a level where it hurts the eyes, chokes the lungs and silently damages our health in ways we can’t even measure. The impact is worst on children and the elderly, it is as if we are all involuntarily smoking 25 cigarettes a day. Delhi is the city I grew up in, a city I love deeply and cherish. But today, I find myself dreading its future. The Delhi I once knew, full of life and warmth, now feels buried under layers of dust and smog. Roads remain covered with sand, construction never stops and vehicles keep multiplying as if it’s some kind of race. What’s even more disheartening is the silence. No media house, no political party and no major organization seems to be treating this as the crisis it is. It is as if we have all quietly accepted that this is how Delhi will be suffocating, grey and resigned. @PMOIndia It does not have to be this way. Our elders and our children deserve better. We deserve better. - a concerned citizen of Delhi

A candidate was supposed to join us on Monday. He emailed us yesterday asking us to match the offer of the other company - it was higher by almost 2 Lakhs. We responded to him immediately that we can't do that - and if he's not interested, we'll withdraw our offer. If he wants to join based on our original offer, we're looking forward to having him onboard. He responded - "I will join the other company" and we withdrew our offer. Apparently, he played the same trick at the other company showing our offer letter & asking them to bump it up. Coincidentally, I know the founder of that company & since he showed our offer letter to them, they reached out to us. We told them - we're not hiring him. If they want they can. They too got fed up of his constant negotiations & rescinded his offer. And the candidate now reached out to us to onboard him based on our original offer. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Only if such candidates realised that they can always get a 'job' which pays them more, but they can't build a 'career' with such bargaining skills.

A Quiet Morning, A Heavy Loss This Wednesday, while we were sitting comfortably at our homes, going about our routines, an officer was fighting for his life in the dense forests near the Madhya Pradesh–Chhattisgarh–Maharashtra tri-junction. Inspector Ashish Sharma of the elite 'Hawk Force' was martyred during a fierce early morning encounter with armed Maoists. Around 8.30 am, during a joint operation by police forces of the three states, he suffered severe bullet injuries in the thigh and abdomen while leading his team deep inside Chhattisgarh territory. It made me think on where does this courage come from? What allows someone to step into danger knowing their family may one day face unbearable grief? He was not like us. He walked toward the very things we spend our lives avoiding. He carried a sense of duty that rose above fear, comfort and personal safety. In moments like this, we are reminded of what a true hero is. Om Shanti 🙏
