My concern with the United squad is how many players we’d need if we qualify for the CL. I think you need two solid options per position where the drop/off isn’t significant. I will highlight what I think. 1. CB I think CB is an area of concern. I know people don’t feel that but Licha is a unicorn profile in our club. You need someone that can play that line breaking passes. No one in the team can do that at that level (Heaven is decent but misses the aggressiveness OOP). Maguire is a solid box defender, and MDL is an adept back up but need him to stay fit if we are playing 60 games in a season. 2. Full-Back RB is okay - Dalot and Maz can rotate. LB can be upgraded - Dorgu and Shaw are okay but Dorgu is more a LM/LW than an out and out LB. Need to sign a LB especially considering Shaw’s injury history. 3. Midfield This is United’s worst area in terms of backup. Casemiro (who’s leaving at the end of the season) doesn’t have a backup - Ugarte is mid-PL level at best - not CL level. Mainoo is the only #8 in the team and I don’t think Mount fits there (more of a SS/#10) United would need 3 CMs (1 to replace Casemiro as the starter) and 2x squad players (1x 8 and 1x6) Number 10 position is fine - Bruno can play twice a week and Mount is a decent backup (if need be) + Cunha. 4. Attack I think Zirkzee should leave and we should sign an out and out LW. Striker - Sesko/Mbuemo RW - Amad/Mbuemo LW - ??/Cunha So overall, we need a backup LCB, backup LB, 3 CMs and 1x LW

He did not stay on the wildcard… I have left a third slot open for Arsenal though (just Saka and Gabriel for now). Almost definitely Eze or Gyokeres coming in for GW37 against Burnley.

I think Simeone needs to bring Sorloth on asap in the 2nd half. Atletico had no box presence against an already aerially dominant CB partnership. Putting crosses in was not even an option. They need a physical ST to occupy the CBs, allowing Alvarez & Griezmann/Baena to play off him or arrive into the space around the D.

It just gets funnier everyday. Now, they don't only want United to authorize a second loan, they also want united a pay a portion of his salary. I understand that this might be PR/media driven from Barca's side, but if anyone at United even begins to take this seriously, might as well just wrap the whole club up. Half time review: - Lammens incredible. Three elite saves already. - Bruno Fernandes proving why he’s the best player in the league, he makes creating chances look easy. - Mainoo making Amorim look even more stupid. - Defence has been unorganised and we’re lucky Igor Thiago can’t score today, but Heaven has done so well. - Missing Cunha. Amad’s missed two chances now. - Mbeumo has made some good runs in behind, just need a tad more. - Sesko fantastic finish and played well. So far a great opening 15 mins then we dropped off and came close to conceding but made it 2-0 against the run of play. Brentford look dangerous, we have just been more clinical!
