From the way INEOS are acting you wouldn’t think Man Utd only have two central midfielders in the whole squad! Tottenham plan to sign Tonali and Fernandes but we don’t even want to pay up for prime target Fernandes and already walked away from Tonali as expensive. This is an awful look if true. I’m hoping the new that Mateus Fernandes is close to joining Tottenham is a West Ham attempt to scare Man Utd and hurry them up to bid!

@RaminManUnited So many good sources have said Tottenham are pushing aggressive financially and United may have cash flow issues. If West Ham are happy to split the the fee across a few years United can pay easily but if West Ham want a large chunk paid upfront sources say United may lose out.

@AliceTalksFooty What is the evidence that Tottenham wants to pay the most? The highest they ever paid in their entire history was 65 million for Solanke. Now all of a sudden they are able to pay 100 million for Tonali and 80 million for Fernandez?

Leny Yoro and Mateus Fernandes have the same agent (Jorge Mendes). Yoro wanted Real Madrid over Liverpool and Man Utd but he went to Man Utd as we were willing to pay the most. Tottenham are willing to pay the most for Mateus Fernandes, so even if it's "only Spurs" as people say I'm worried. I know Man Utd's strategy is to get the player to reject everyone else and drive the price down but that never works with Mendes clients. De Zerbi has a lot of pull and with Senesi and Van Hecke done and Tonali likely I do think people underestimate the pull Tottenham have. I know the word inside Man Utd is he loves us, let's be patient and get this price down, but with how Jorge Mendes works I do feel we may need to act a little faster and be willing to pay a little more.

The reality is it's probably all negotiation tactics, I'd still like to think that we'll get the Mateus Fernandes deal done. But also teams around us are more willing to put the money on the table for top targets, and we will inevitably miss out on players if saving money is the mentality for every transfer. There has to be a balance.

Or Jorge Mendes tactic to speed up the deal

@FrankEra_ I bet about 90% of them are Ronaldo fans that are not from Portugal. I know a few Portugal fans who don't even support Man Utd but hate the manager and think the team should be built around Bruno not Ronaldo.
