March 25, 1971 is observed as Genocide Day. On the occasion of Genocide Day, 1 pay my deepest respect to all the martyrs. In the history of freedom-loving Bangladesh, 25 March 1971 remains one of the most disgraceful and brutal days. On that dark night, the Pakistani occupation forces carried out one of the most heinous genocides in history against the unarmed people of Bangladesh in the name of 'Operation Searchlight". They indiscriminately opened fire on teachers, intellectuals and innocent civilians at various places, including Dhaka University, Pilkhana and Rajarbāgh Police Lines, killing many people. The genocide of 25 March was a pre-planned massacre. Why this organised killing spree could not be resisted remains a matter of historical research regarding the visible role of the political leadership of that time. However, on the night of 25 March, the 8th East Bengal Regiment in Chattogram formally initiated armed resistance against the genocide by declaring 'We Revolt'. Through this resistance to genocide, the long nine-month armed Liberation War began. To convey the value and significance of independence to the present and future generations, it is essential to know about the genocide of 25 March as well. Let us all strive to honour the sacrifices of the martyrs by establishing in the state and society the spirit of the great Liberation War - equality, human dignity and social justice. Let us work together to build a just, developed, prosperous, self-reliant and democratic Bangladesh. I pray to the Almighty Allah to grant forgiveness and eternal peace to the departed souls of all the martyrs. On the occasion of Genocide Day on 25 March. I wish every success to all the programmes organised to observe the day.

After a decade on the The Advertising Standards Council of India’s Consumer Complaints Council (CCC), yesterday (March 24) marked my final meeting, and the close of a truly enriching chapter. What began in 2016 as an opportunity to contribute to the marketing services fraternity turned into a very rewarding 10-year journey. I still recall the early days of in-person meetings at @ascionline's Worli office, where discussions often ran well past the agenda (and we didn't mind it!), and then the move in 2020 to virtual sessions, where we all became familiar squares on a screen. Having known ASCI from my days as a rookie journalist, being part of the Consumer Complaints Council offered a much-nuanced understanding of the media ecosystem. It’s been fascinating to witness ASCI’s evolution into a more dynamic, forward-looking organisation. The Secretariat is a stronger collective, a team of very capable professionals carrying the mission forward with purpose. I will miss the conversations, the debates, the learning… and the camaraderie. My sincere thanks to the ASCI team for the warm farewell (see pic), and to everyone who took the time to join or reach out.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today told the Legislative Assembly that strict action would be taken in the Ashok Kharat case, asserting that “no one found guilty will be spared” amid mounting pressure from the Opposition and Congress leaders. Describing the case as “extremely serious,” Fadnavis said the accused, Ashok Kharat, had allegedly misused claims of “supernatural powers” to exploit and commit serious offences against several women. He emphasised that the nature of the allegations made the case deeply concerning. The Chief Minister said police had been working on the case for some time and had laid a strategic trap as part of the investigation. He revealed that a Look Out Circular (LOC) was issued as early as March 10, based on a complaint registered in another district, to prevent the accused from leaving the country. @CMOMaharashtra | @Dev_Fadnavis | #DevendraFadnavis | #Maharashtra | #AshokKharat | #UNI

A well-known lawyer said that Singhania can be prosecuted in India even if the incident occurred offshore this falls under extra-territorial jurisdiction. Section 208 of the BNSS (earlier Section 188 CrPC), read with Section 337(6) BNSS and Section 26 of the General Clauses Act, allows such prosecution. However, it requires prior sanction from the Central Government. But who will question him? If the media isn’t willing to expose the issue, expecting action from the Central Government seems like too much! ☺️

RIP Legend 🕊️Betrayal by a friend. A traitor. Like in the Army we say, “we leave no man behind.” The same spirit exists in motorsport you never abandon your own. But here, a rich brat chose otherwise. It was him that was driving the motorboat that night at 200 nautical miles per hour. confirmed by himself to the police While a legend was left behind in open waters, the support boat reportedly took Singhania to safety, carried two other female passengers, and then he flew back to Mumbai. He even refused to to provide his personal info to hospital when he was brought to felidhu for injuries. In the most critical moment, loyalty was replaced by self-preservation. This isn’t just a tragedy it feels like abandonment. Gautam Singhania hasn’t even given a formal explanation of what happened, despite being present at the scene. A legend gone, and questions that will never fade. Gone too soon! 🕊️ @SinghaniaGautam

A very sad loss for the community. I had only a few interactions with Hari, the last being just a few weeks ago. My husband, who loves rallying, always spoke about Hari with such admiration and fondness. He was truly a legend of Indian motorsport and inspired so many. We have also lost Arjuna Awardee sailor Mahesh Ramchandran, an outstanding sportsman who brought great pride to the country. Two remarkable individuals from two different sporting worlds, both leaving behind legacies that will be remembered for years to come. My heartfelt condolences to their families and loved ones. May their souls rest in peace and may their families find strength in this difficult time

Update Dear beloved Indians, I can now confirm to you Motorsport Icon Hari Singn is dead and he was killed by billionaire Raymond Group chairman @SinghaniaGautam (the one who stole from his father), due to drunk and reckless driving. @SinghaniaGautam fled Maldives with help from @MMuizzu gov. Maldives corrupt police facilitated his immediate departure. He even refused to provide his personal info to hospital when he was brought to Felidhu for injuries. So there is no record of him ever being at the hospital. He fled Maldives as soon as he was able to walk. There’s no investigation on him. It was him that was driving the motorboat that night, confirmed by himself to police and reported by multiple newspapers including Adhadhu. He was heavily drunk. Police are restricted from speaking about this incident in detail too cause President Muizzu doesn’t want anyone to talk about it. He paid a substantial amount of money, in millions to ruling party PNC gov to flee from the country. Maldives has a local council election and a referendum on 4 April 2026 and @MMuizzu is desperate for money to win the election. He wins elections by bribing people on small islands through door to door campaign. You must also know who Muizzu is. He’s the founder of #IndiaOut movement in Maldives. He hates India. You can search “India Out Muizzu Maldives” and you can see him wearing India Out Tshirt. We Maldivians demand the Indian gov to send billionaire @SinghaniaGautam back to Maldives. We want him investigated.

Update Here’s the sporting/racing motorboat @SinghaniaGautam was driving. He thought he was operating it in a calm river/lake in India. But Maldives doesn’t have rivers, we have rough seas. After the accident caused by his low quality and drunk driving, he was brought to Felidhu with visible injuries to his face and hand. He refused to provide his personal infor and declined to sign the medical records, which hospitals are required to maintain for every patient they treat. He was extremely rude. He was the one driving the racing motorboat, it’s been confirmed and his negligence led to the two people who are still missing. Now, taxpayer funded drones are being used to search for the missing individuals. And he has fled the country with full support and assistance from police and MNDF, so there won’t be any criminal charges against him.
