Very good meeting with @OceanaEurope, @SeasAtRisk, @BirdLifeEurope, @Bloom_FR, @ClientEarth, @WWFEU, @CCBnetwork and the Environmental Justice Foundation, on advancing EU fisheries and ocean priorities. Your role in shaping the first major deliverable under my mandate — the #EUOceanPact — has been key. Our cooperation continues across all aspects of our ocean policy.

Very good meeting with @COPACOGECA, @EuropecheOrg, @seaeurope, @EAPO_EUfishPOs and @ETF_Europe Fisheries section on the forthcoming Roadmap for the Energy Transition of Fisheries. We discussed key priorities, including the legal framework, financing and business models to support the transition. I reaffirmed the @EU_Commission’s commitment to sustainable fisheries and to reducing the sector’s dependence on fossil fuels.

Today, we hosted the Implementation Dialogue on Small-Scale and Coastal Fisheries (SSCF), we brought together policymakers, stakeholders, and the fisheries community to exchange views, share experiences, and shape future approaches for this vital sector. 🎣Small-scale fisheries face growing challenges, including climate change, market pressures, and limited access to fishing opportunities, space and finance. This dialogue is about building a shared understanding of implementation gaps, identifying concrete follow-up actions, and reinforcing 🇪🇺cooperation. Together, we examined how EU legislative and financial frameworks work in practice 👉spotting bottlenecks, showcasing good practices, and exploring opportunities for improvement. A big thank you to all participants! Your insights are essential as we work to strengthen this cornerstone of our coastal economies.

The @MEDAC_ attended the Implementation Dialogue on SSCF hosted by @KostasCadis underlining that SSF already has significant representation within many ACs.Generational and fleet renewal,MSP, climate change, financial tools for increased SSF participation in ACs were mentioned.
