On day 2 of 🇨🇾 🇪🇺 #EMD2026, I opened two critical discussions on Europe’s maritime future. On sustainable and competitive fisheries and aquaculture, I shared the main conclusions of the CFP evaluation. The upcoming #Vision2040 will set a long-term course for a competitive, resilient sector and ocean Then, I turned to #OceanEye, our new initiative which will accelerate Europe’s ocean observation, turning data into action.

A pleasure to accompany #COREPER representatives through the 🇨🇾 🇪🇺 #EMD2026 exhibition, showcasing how EU funding and innovation are shaping our maritime future. We discussed the ocean dashboard and visited the stand of Mercator, important for the oceaneye and the digital twin of the ocean 🐟At the Advisory Councils’ Workshop, I highlighted how small-scale fishers’ knowledge is vital for sustainable fisheries and co-management. The recent #CFP evaluation underscores the importance of integrating fishers’ expertise into broader ocean management.
