Thank you to everyone who voted for Fair Go in the State Election. While I’m disappointed, there’s no time to waste – and plenty of lessons have been learned. A big thank you as well to all the candidates who dedicated their time to the campaign. I’m excited about the year ahead and ready to get back to serving the people of SA in Parliament.

I’m proud to announce that this year I’ll be launching South Australia’s first Parliamentary Friends of Men’s Wellbeing forum. My goal is to bring MPs from all sides of politics together with lived-experience advocates and community organisations – getting everyone in the same room to engage and better understand the unique challenges affecting men. This builds on my ongoing work to improve health outcomes for men in South Australia, including: ✅ Securing significant funding to establish a Suicide Prevention Fellowship ✅ Securing funding to develop an accessible Men’s Health Checklist app ✅ Hosting South Australia’s largest International Men’s Day event since 2023 ✅ Successfully passing a motion in Parliament recognising the importance of International Men’s Day Men’s wellbeing deserves a place in the policy conversation. More details soon. @PBBAuHQ @DIDs4Dads @AusMensshe @MHCoalitionSA

And there are some electorates where over half of electors have already voted. I've published the numbers on my blog. You'll have to search for the blog in my name as in a great free speech move, X now strangles tweets that include external links.

@009Kat @mikesmithson7 @7NewsAdelaide I could have sat and just taken the pay check until 2030 for my own election. I tried had to build something, it grew quickly and that was always high risk but at least I had a go at providing something different

There is fresh evidence about the mental health crisis facing vets in South Australia. A parliamentary inquiry has found they are working in unsustainable conditions with pressures that are contributing to burnout and in some cases, suicide. Lifeline – 13 11 14. @caseytreloar7

Right now, many vets are working more than 60 hours a week, and many are earning less than the average Australian wage. Today, I joined Stacey Lee on @1395FIVEAA, alongside Garry Putland from Sophie's Legacy, to discuss the findings of the Veterinarian Mental Health Inquiry. We’re calling for a commitment to implement the inquiry’s recommendations – reforms that we believe will not only save lives but also reduce the cost of pet care.

I was the sole MP to oppose last year’s insidious legislation that handed government unfettered power, and took away the rights of South Australian citizens. I voted AGAINST the Emergency Management (Miscellaneous) Amendment Bill, which allows the declaration of a “state of alert” – a new legal mechanism that grants sweeping powers to authorities, before an emergency even occurs! For example, the legislation literally states that “forcing disclosure of information overrides privacy protections and secrecy provisions in other legislation”. My sensible amendments received no support, so I launched a petition calling on this Bill to be repealed, and hundreds of people have already jumped on board. My actions – and those of every other party and MP – prove that South Australians railing against government overreach can only trust one party: Fair Go. Email my office to sign the petition or to find out more. Game.Office@parliament.sa.gov.au

**International Men's Day 2026** My International Men's Day Gala is back for the fourth year. When I created this event in 2023, I wanted a genuine platform for change and to celebrate the positive role men play in our society. Since then, we’ve raised funds and awareness for frontline charities, and I’ve continued working year-round to support men’s health more broadly. Now, International Men’s Day is well and truly placed in the South Australian landscape. I'm excited to be planning this event once again, the biggest of its kind in SA. More details will be announced soon, but for now, save the date.

9:58am today marked the 84th anniversary of the Bombing of Darwin – the largest single attack on Australian soil by a foreign power, and the beginning of almost 100 air raids across northern Australia in the months that followed. My office attended the Salisbury RSL’s annual service, one of the few commemorations of its kind still held in South Australia. Fair Go stands proudly for our veterans and will always honour their service, sacrifice and endurance.

For years I’ve pushed to increase assistance for rural South Australians forced to travel to access specialist medical services – and my work paid off in early 2023 when the State Government agreed to double the PATS travel rebate. Fair Go welcomes the Premier’s 2026 election commitment to further boost PATS by lifting subsidies and expanding eligibility, and we’ll make sure that’s one health promise Labor actually keeps. Plus, Fair Go will also change the rules so rural South Australians seeking a second medical opinion aren’t left out of pocket. We will ALWAYS advocate for a Fair Go for rural SA, not just during an election campaign. That’s why I was rapt to recently secure funding for Cottages 4 Country Care, a not-for-profit charity group that provides accommodation for country people requiring specialist medical services in Adelaide.

South Australian Farming, Water & Land Management - Full Policy Foundational Beliefs • Water is essential for all life — human, animal, and environmental. • Farmers are land managers, not environmental threats. • Property rights and water rights must be protected, not eroded. • Fire prevention, food security, and water security come before ideology. • Low Flow Bypasses will remain strictly voluntary; if the farmer wants this, he pays for it privately, not taxpayers. ________________________________________ 1. On-Farm Dams & Water Infrastructure On-farm dams are essential infrastructure, especially in regions with limited or no reliable underground water. Policy Commitments • Low-flow bypasses will remain strictly voluntary. - If a farmer wants a low-flow bypass, the farmer pays for it. - No taxpayer funding. • No permits required to clean out, maintain, or repair existing farm dams. - Desilting and maintenance are routine land management. - Delays caused by permits increase flood risk, fire risk, and stock welfare risk. • Recognise farm dams as multi-purpose assets, including: - Flood mitigation ponds - Firefighting water sources - Stock and domestic water - Drought resilience - Vegetation support - Native animal and bird habitat • Support the construction of new on-farm dams. • Reject policies that: - Force water to bypass storage - Treat water capture as environmental harm - Leave farms and communities vulnerable during drought and fire seasons Principle: Water that falls on a farm should be allowed to be stored on that farm and not be levied and or taxed. ________________________________________ 2. Fire Protection & Roadside Vegetation Management Uncontrolled roadside vegetation across South Australia is a major and escalating bushfire threat. Policy Commitments • No permits required to clear or manage roadside vegetation for fire prevention. • Restore the right of farmers to: - Clear roadside vegetation adjacent to their property - Implement approved bushfire plans without obstruction • End vegetation rules that: - Prevent fuel reduction - Block fire access - Trap heat and embers along road corridors • Require councils and state agencies to prioritise: - Fire risk reduction - Road safety and visibility - Protection of adjoining farmland • Recognise that overgrown roadsides actively prevent farmers from defending their land, stock, homes, and communities. • Farmers are currently notified to clear 5m from within their boundary fence, which is food for stock. Restore rights of farmers to utilise this area as food for stock. • Fire safety will take precedence over paperwork and ideology. Principle: You cannot fight fires if you are not allowed to clear fuel. ________________________________________ 3. Water Rights for South Australian Farmers Water rights are property rights and must be treated as such. Policy Commitments • Defend all surface and groundwater entitlements held by South Australian farmers. • Oppose: - Forced reductions in water allocations - Forced fencing of creeks and dams - Regulatory redefinition of water rights • Require full and fair compensation for any government action that reduces lawful water access. Principle: Without water security, there is no food security. ________________________________________ 4. Practical Environmental Stewardship • Conservation must be practical, voluntary, and farmer-led. • Reject “lock-it-up” policies that: - Increase fire risk - Reduce resilience - Reduces farmers' abilities to grow clean, healthy food - Harm regional communities • Recognise that: - Managed dams improve ecosystems - Managed vegetation reduces disaster risk ________________________________________ Conclusion This policy defends South Australian farmers, regional communities, and common sense. • Dams are water security, fire protection, ecosystems and water for stock and native wildlife. • Low-flow bypasses must remain strictly voluntary and privately funded. • Roadside vegetation must be managed for fire safety. A strong South Australia depends on mum and dad farmers and secure water rights. We are growing a critical need. People need to eat clean, healthy food grown in South Australia and Australia.

Relationship breakdowns and family separation are leading contributors to male suicide. I’m proud to have helped secure funding to establish Dr Ian Zajac’s role as Breakthrough Research Fellow in Suicide Prevention at Flinders University, and it was a pleasure meeting him today. We spoke about the importance of targeted research, the key risk factors driving suicidality in men and the need to strengthen support during these life-changing moments. I was also pleased to learn more about his recent Flinders Foundation grant success, with the foundation funding the team’s first project, which will investigate how to improve the support offered to men as they navigate relationship difficulties and family separation.

There are two genders, male and female. Gender is determined by one's biological sex. The sex of a baby and thus their gender is determined at fertilisation. We must not be afraid to state this biological truth.

I want the national anthem brought back in our schools. Having students AND staff stand to sing Advance Australia Fair – in English – at assemblies or special events would help rebuild pride in our nation. Fair Go is about being proud of Australia, not ashamed of our heritage.

My Parental Primacy Bill will ensure parents – not agenda-driven schools and governments – are responsible for educating their children on issues of morality, ethics, politics, social values, personal wellbeing, and identity, including gender and sexuality. I’ll always stand up FOR family values – and stand up AGAINST societal and educational trends that harm the family unit. We must give parents a Fair Go by restoring that power to them.
