Services across Adelaide report more men aged 40–50 becoming homeless after relationship breakdown, financial stress and rising living costs.
@HuttStCentre saw over 2,200 people in 2024/25 – 63% men – and a 23% rise in rough sleeping, while Vinnies Men’s Crisis Centre is at capacity.
My questions to the President to address the growing crisis in men’s mental health and homelessness in South Australia:
• Do you acknowledge the link between relationship breakdown and men’s homelessness?
• What support exists specifically for men experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity?
• What immediate action will you take as services say they are overwhelmed?
