Okay, you're changing my mind. The last Resident Evil was supposed to be pretty amazing (I haven't played it yet). I think that, as a whole the industry shifted so hard into microtransactions and online, it left a bad taste in gamers' mouths. I was in the industry during the mobile boom (concept artist for Disney Interactive), and the mobile revolution turned out to be one big scam based off the success of a couple games. Ever since then, it feels like so many studios are trying to capture the success of a Fortnite or Roblox instead of trying to create a decent, unique game.

One of the weirdest moments growing up is realising videogames don’t hit the same anymore.

@GamewithDave I don't know if this is because we get older or the games just aren't as good. I think the gaming industry has taken a massive step backward and done away with a lot of the qualities games had in the early 2000s.

Marathon players need to realize a few things. The game already had a bad rep due to plagiarizing and delays, if it came out before AR it would have done better. A few review bombs (which I'm against) isn't killing your game. It was bleak before Destiny got shut down.
