@Lons I went to first grade with a kid from up the street. He was pulled out and sent to a different school. They didn't tell us why. Looking back, I'm pretty sure he was autistic.

After three grueling weeks of interviews, I'm delighted to say that I've accepted a job with @bubble. For the first time in my career, I'm going to be working somewhere where the stuff I love to build *is* the company's product. Can't wait to get started!

@mykola @OpenAI There are no semantics in ChatGPT, no meaning. It's just patterns of how words are strung together. It has no way to evaluate a concept like "is this true?", because there is no "this".

@mykola @OpenAI I wish I knew how to make people understand: ChatGPT isn't AI. It's just eliza on steroids. It's got no comprehension, no knowledge of what it's saying. It's just picking the statistically most likely next word, over and over again, according to the patterns it's seen.

@Laelaps Very, very similar story to growing up with ADHD. It was like everyone had a secret user manual for how their brains worked; but I didn't have one, and even if got a peek, it was about their brain, not mine.
