PETITION TO IDAC/NPA CALL FOR AN URGENT INVESTIGATION INTO ALLEGATIONS INVOLVING ADV ANDREA JOHNSON We, the undersigned citizens of South Africa, hereby submit this petition to formally raise serious concerns regarding the conduct and/or role of Advocate Andrea Johnson in matters relating to the Independent Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC). We are deeply concerned by allegations suggesting a pattern of conduct that may amount to the improper and selective targeting of senior law enforcement officials, including General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, General Dumisani Khumalo, and Fannie Masemola. If substantiated, these allegations point to a potential abuse of authority and a serious threat to the integrity, independence, and credibility of South Africa’s anti-corruption institutions. Such actions, if left unaddressed, risk undermining public trust in the rule of law and the impartial functioning of law enforcement agencies. We therefore call upon the Head of IDAC to: 1. Immediately institute an independent, transparent, and time-bound investigation into these allegations; 2. Publicly clarify the role and involvement of Advocate Andrea Johnson in the matters concerning the above-mentioned officials; 3. Confirm whether all actions taken were in full compliance with the principles of legality, fairness, and due process; 4. Provide the public with clear and timely feedback on the outcomes of such an investigation. We submit this petition in good faith and in the public interest, to safeguard the integrity of South Africa’s justice system and ensure accountability within institutions entrusted with combating corruption. We further state that failure to act decisively on these concerns will compel us, as citizens, to escalate this matter through additional democratic and legal channels, including submissions to Parliament, petitions to the Minister of Justice, and formal Access to Information requests.
