Carney doesn’t want Alberta to have new pipelines. But he’ll happily pledge Canadian taxpayer money to help Ukraine rebuild theirs. And he has zero problem with Brookfield — the global investment giant he was deeply tied to — owning and operating major pipeline infrastructure in the United States, including assets worth billions. Make that make sense. Alberta’s oil and gas sector is the economic engine of this country. New pipelines aren’t a luxury — they’re how we get our resources to market, create jobs, and generate the revenue that funds everything from healthcare to infrastructure. Yet for years, the Liberals have blocked, delayed, or made it nearly impossible to build them. Regulatory roadblocks, endless court challenges, and a deliberate “keep it in the ground” ideology have strangled projects that should have been shovel-ready a decade ago. Meanwhile, Carney’s government has committed billions in aid to Ukraine — including support for rebuilding their energy infrastructure after Russian attacks. That’s fine if you’re a globalist who sees Canada as a piggy bank for foreign causes. But here’s the part that should piss you off: while domestic pipelines are treated like environmental crimes, Brookfield has major stakes in U.S. energy midstream assets — pipelines that move oil and gas across America. Carney knows exactly how pipelines work when they line the pockets of the right global investors. He just doesn’t want Canadians benefiting from our own resources the same way. This is the same guy who lectures Alberta about the “transition” while his old corporate world cashes in on the exact infrastructure he won’t let us build here. Alberta isn’t asking for special treatment. They’re asking to be allowed to succeed in a country that supposedly belongs to all of us. Carney’s version of Canada First apparently means: - No new pipelines for Canadians - Billions for foreign reconstruction - Profits for Brookfield in the U.S. - And you’re supposed to shut up and accept managed decline.
