@tatertotsconor My Dad and I never saw eye-to-eye politically until the Trump years. He didn’t vote in 2016, because he hated Trump but didn’t like Hilary. He has since talked about how that was a mistake. Admitting you made a mistake is a good thing, not weakness or being a “loser.”

As someone who did not vote for Hillary in 2016 I’m feeling the heavy weight of my foolish fucking choice. I think a lot of people who also didn’t vote for her are feeling it, too, but instead of taking accountability they’re blaming anyone and everyone else. Own up. We did this.

As someone who is EXTREMELY good at shopping, telling a fat person how easy it is to find clothes because they can just go to (insert plus size store here) is just so fucking insulting. Finding clothes as a fat person is stressful, frustrating, and often embarrassing.

@hebagowayed That’s how my program did the defense. It was mostly advice on turning it into a book. Then they did the ceremonial “kick everyone out for a minute while we pretend to deliberate” and the advisor opens the door and greets the candidate as “Dr.” It was so cool every time.

@lynna_listens Vast majority of my professors, both in undergrad and grad school, were men. But the woman who taught women’s history was married and had a baby while I was in her class. So the person most likely to be pushing being a “man hater” had a husband and kids.

OK, let's do a survey. If you went to college, please tell me what percentage (approximately) of your professors were single, childless women (regardless of whether they taught you to hate men or not).

@broadwaybabyto Well said. I have a temporary injury to my back causing massive nerve pain. I simply can’t stand long enough to do much, and I got judged by a coworker for doing grocery pick up instead of “just going inside.” Some people don’t know until it’s them.

women only: do y'all also hate when people call you "sweetie," or "honey"? i've come to hate it. so saccharine, and too intimate for strangers to be saying it. and i know it's a longtime southern thing, but it... bothers me that a grown woman like me is called "sweetie"

@tlecaque I’m looking at his chest of drawers right now. Things were so problematic between him and my great-grandmother that they had separate bedrooms; I inherited his furniture. No one speaks well of her, but my dad said he was quiet and nice.
