@roddreher If Putin takes out a European target, that will be all on Putin. If you want to blame anyone else, it would have to be Trump because the only reason the US is allowing Ukraine to escalate is to end this before Trump takes office and withdraws support.

If, God forbid, Russia takes out a European target in response, as Putin promised to do the other night, this will be on the heads of Biden and Zelensky. Putin could not have made it clearer what he was prepared to do if US missiles keep falling.

@courtneyrsexton Same. Never Trumper from the start. And while I do appreciate the other NTers I’ve found, it has been soul-crushing to see how many people I thought were rational & decent fall into the abyss of MAGA. It’s been alongside multiple betrayals by church leaders. A rough 9+ years.

Cannot believe what a long period of time it has been. #NeverTrump since 2015. Almost 10 years, a quarter of my adult life.
I don't know that we can call it a "cohesive political movement" but I sure am thankful for the friendships I've found and the voices I've grown to respect

- go to sleep at a reasonable time
- wake at my usual 5:30/6am on Wednesday - so 12:30-1am on the East Coast
- watch & stress through the morning, while trying to work, until decision is announced

When someone stands behind a microphone and dehumanizes entire groups of people and says the most despicable and fear-mongering rhetoric, that disturbs me.

I swear to god I am going to make pamphlets will all the major, minor, & possible symptoms of perimenopause/menopause to hand out to women. Because we are not told about these things & doctors don’t warn us or have these discussions. Why is it up to women to inform one another?

@drclairetaylor Electric kettles are available in shops in the US, but most people don’t have them. Generally, people have a kettle that they heat on the stovetop to boil water. And they have a coffee pot or some other form of coffee maker.

@SketchesbyBoze @RuthMBuchanan Yes, but it doesn’t ensure they will grow up to be bibliophiles. I raised 4 kids with massive exposure to books of all sorts and spent untold hours reading to them all. One is a massive bibliophile, far surpassing me, one is a good reader, and two barely read any books at all.

The best thing we can do for kids is give them early exposure to reading. Books are a refuge in the chaos & confusion of adolescence. Books cultivate interiority and imagination. They take us at our most awkward and self-hating and say, “You’re not the first person to feel this.”
