I made this account to document my life as a GTM developer and promote Ping. Somehow, I still haven’t explained what Ping actually does. At a high level, Ping lets teams build the software they need inside one shared workspace, using the context already spread across their business. I’m using it to build a GTM system that helps manage work across the funnel, surface useful insights, and turn them into next actions without bouncing between a dozen different apps. And that’s just one use case. Ping is one platform that can adapt to almost any business or organizational need. The only real limitation is what you can think to build.

@lelaurajane Apart from the USC being 6.8%, the above numbers are correct. That still comes to >50%. That kind of tax on any income is obscene, but on income as low as 50k, it's absolutely offensive, and Irish taxpayers should be livid about it.

@lelaurajane 40% tax + 4% PRSI +8% USC. Now I'm no mathematician but I think that's more than 50%. And all to pay for (1) an obscenely bloated gov and semi state sector and (2) a far left welfare state.

@lelaurajane The 2011 pension levy was a straight raid on private sector pension funds. And it went on for years.

@lelaurajane LOL, no. It was only for private sector workers.

@lelaurajane One other big advantage in the US is control over savings. You can borrow from your 401k and you can cash out early if you need to. It infuriates me that there is nothing I can do with my Irish pension even a decade after I left the country.

@Conor_Concludes But that's the thing - America owned the problem when they got involved. Abandoning Afghans to the Taliban now IS shameful. And since both invasion and withdrawal were broadly supported by US citizens, they own that shame. You can't be a fair weather occupation supporter.

@lelaurajane A legislative body for which only graduates and other elites have a vote is absolutely obscene. The Seanad should be abolished and it's a shame Irish people didn't do it when they had the chance.
