I bought this NFT for $4,000. It’s now worth $1,700. What people on every platform will miss, except NFT purists here on X, is the attention flow and social signalling this ape created. At least 1,000 apes follow me. My LinkedIn posts featuring this ape have cumulatively hit around 1 million impressions, mostly from people thinking it’s rage bait. I ran conservative numbers through Grok on what it would cost to reach that many people via ads. Roughly $30 per 1,000 impressions. That’s $30,000 to reach 1 million impressions. It was never my intention to create attention flows. It happened by accident. Mid-curvers will say I could’ve done all of this without owning it. The irony is that many business, marketing, and branding experts spend astronomical amounts chasing eyeballs, while the exact attention they want already exists inside NFT communities. The same communities they claim to hate.
