@TheBarbLandZone Good luck with your chemo, I very much hope that it works.

If you want to talk marketing, just ask. I will share anything that I can freely of course😅. I've started built businesses over last 40 years. Sales/marketing is important if you want to eat.😁
I'm considering doing some small items (sewn) that are easy/cheap to ship and may open up a small niche. It will give me a chance to doodle around ideas, sell and buy more materials😁 while testing.
I start chemo on Monday, and having a little happy painting on a mini easel on my table would be😊😀 to look at, therefore, not everyone views a painting as wall material. I was an Interior Designer/furniture store for nearly 20 yrs and love the miniatures.
What I can do Michael is repost your awesome stuff to help😃👏👏🥳

"Tiny Florida Landscape #3" 🌴
2.5 x 3.5 inch oil painting on paper.
My theory is that in these days of realistic computer-generated images from text prompts, people are responding to analog paintings like mine that look slightly amateurish, because they have a more human look.

@clairevhill The English countryside sure does look beautiful.

Thank you so much for you comment!
And I'm certain that I don't sell them, the hassle of selling tiny paintings like this is surely not worth the money I'd get for them.
If enough people follow me, and I could produce a slightly bigger painting a few times a week, and sell them for $200 each, then maybe it would make sense.
English

@MichaelArtist4 Gosh, I love this one!
Good thing the fickle algorithm has you showing up in my feed!😀👍👊
I'm 15 min from the weeki wachee coast-this captures it perfectly!
Are you sure you don't sell these?😀😁1st dibbs!

@TheresaFitton1 Awesome! I’ll remember the tip about starting with ink.
English

@MichaelArtist4 Thank you 🥀 I find they work best on an ink wash..well that’s how I use them 🥀
English

@JanKreibach Thanks again. It’s kind of impossible to get a lot of detail into a painting this tiny. At least not with thick oil paint and textured paper.
English

@MichaelArtist4 In my mind contrasts make a picture livid. Combined with a reduced amount of colors and it is a recipe for a good picture. And I think these pictures work well. Not habing too much details also helps.
English

@JanKreibach Thank you very much! I admit that I have been intentionally trying to do a better job of creating compositions and color contrasts that will work well on social media.
English

@MichaelArtist4 And in addition, this one is extremely well composed. Everything fits together and works with the basic desire of orientation. Most people don‘t analyze pictures, but they feel it.
English

@JimMusilPainter Ah! The good old days of driving around the California coast in … whatever that vehicle is 🙂

@ggioiamelissa @j_elliot_art Yes, I remember Pearl, including the original Pearl on Canal Street in Manhattan, plus I've shopped at three of their satellite stores.
But they were already in a state of decline by the turn of the century.
English

@MichaelArtist4 @j_elliot_art Jerry’s is good too: Anyone remember Pearl Paint? That was an awesome art store

@murphy_tjm8286 Thank you very much, Mr. Murphy! (I once had a law professor named Murphy.)

"Tiny Florida Landscape #2"🌴
2.5 x 3.5 inch oil painting on paper.
I love using this "Canson Canva-Paper" for these tiny paintings. The texture is nice but subtle. I think it photographs very well. The French really know their paper. Do any other artists use it?

English

@BPArtUK It looks like Florida. Are those palm trees on the left?

@ftyre76 I played that game a very long time ago, before it was cool.
English

@ArtFromTheShed Yeah, acrylics sound hard without how fast they dry. I like to mix a color, and then come back to it a few hours later.
English

I'm working on two pieces where I'm not throwing the rainbow at them, but like you (and because I work mainly in acrylics) I try to use straight from the tube otherwise it's wasted.
No thanks required. It's hard to get traction on here. Supporting other artists helps (when the algorithm sends them, that is!) 😊

I'm absolutely over the moon to share that this oil on canvas I posted on here several months ago (and which got 3 likes on here) has received 1000 likes in just a few weeks on another platform.
This means a great deal to me and people like me. We work alone, we don't know whether we are getting it right. We don't know whether people can see the time it takes to create a piece or the courage it takes to put it out there.
Feedback, any kind, matters. Find your people, even if it's on another platform. Encouragement fuels creative growth.
