@MickgCunningham

Yorkshire birder moved from top of Pennines to Standlake Oxon 31.3.17. Whole new birding ball game. Basil Ede meets Midsomer murders. Duff phonescope only.

I wanted to stay on twitter to try help it not become a cess pit of far right crap. There are still some good people on here, including old fashioned conservatives. But X mirrors its owner now. Divisive. Unpleasant. Full of bots. I'm off to blue-sky. Handle is @mickgcunningham

Just 2 Fieldfare seen on patch #vismig so far this autumn.However with a plunge of cold weather into Scandinavia combining with a Northerley-Easterly flow setting up,I’m expecting a big push of Fieldfare downwind into Low Countries & across into UK overnight Friday-Sunday #nocmig

My #Scilly2024 trip ended on Saturday. Another hugely enjoyable holiday - no mega rare birds this year, but plenty to see anyway eg Izzy Wheatear, Blyth's and OB Pipits, Wilson's Snipe (maybe), ST Lark, Black Kite, Lesser Yellowlegs, Hoopoe, RB Fly, Wryneck...@scillybirds

Looks like a newspaper owned by the Fourth Lord Rothermere, who inherited it from the Third Lord Rothermere, who inherited it from the Second Lord Rothermere, who inherited it from the First Lord Rothermere, is bitterly opposed to Labour's plans for inheritance tax

Choosing to take today off work definitely paid off once again at Holyhead. @laurenevans217 and I found this Pallas's Warbler in the plantation at South Stack this morning. We are both very happy!

@nomadbirder @GPCbirding There's a large flock resident in oxon. A definite wild one is on the 0xon list. Someone photographed the flock in flight. Later, it was noted one had a ring. Number etc visible. Was ringed in USA. Unless locals go west!!

@GPCbirding I think all recording bodies dropped the ball with Snow Geese a long while ago, they just seem to be collectively binned when their origins are just as good as Cackling/Canada Goose. Lack of data reflected in that its not even covered by Scarce Migrants report.
