Just like Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah and Iran also know they can’t destroy Israel militarily. Their ultimate goal was always to create a rift between Israel and the U.S., hoping to end the strategic alliance, and to attack Israel again in 10-20 years, when Israel is fully isolated and vulnerable. Both the U.S. and Israel are falling into Tehran’s trap over Lebanon.

The Iranian negotiating team has suspended its trip to Switzerland to begin the next phase of talks with the U.S. due to the continuation of Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon, pro-Hezbollah Al-Mayadeen reports. Tehran reportedly informed Washington and the mediators that the Lebanon file is considered central to it in conducting the negotiations and their continuation or suspension, and the ongoing Israeli operations in a depth of 10 kilometers inside Lebanese territory constitutes a flagrant violation of the first clause of the MoU.

If the U.S. is negotiating from strength, Hezbollah has no place in the Iran deal.
Israel is not at war with Lebanon. It is at war with Hezbollah, a U.S. designated terrorist organization that occupies Lebanon.
No country will accept a terrorist army on its border. There is no reason for any agreement to shield Hezbollah.

This morning's attack on Beirut should not have happened, particularly on a special day when we are so close to a Peace Deal with Iran.
Israel has the right to defend itself, but the attack it was responding to was very small and meaningless, nobody was hurt, injured, or killed, and should not disrupt this important process.
There should be no more attacks by Israel anywhere in Lebanon, but there should also be no more attacks by any other party, including Hezbollah, against Israel.
