Mitchell Elementary

Thank you to our Principal Council presidents for meeting today to share valuable feedback! They help serve as the voice of our district leaders, and their advocacy and support play a vital role in the success and growth of our schools.

Every classroom @Mitchellhcps was filled with student accountability and authentic intellectual engagement. Students were defending claims, involved in socratic circles, and working collectively to expand their knowledge of core concepts. So exciting to watch!

What an amazing staff we have coming together to make sure our school is ready for our students on Monday! Proud to be a Mitchell Bobcat!💙

Thank you to those that came out to the PTA meeting. We had a great turn out. A special TY to Mrs Grigsby for leading the art activity with the students, while parents attended the meeting. Also, a big thank you to our PTA president Mrs Godsey. She has us off to a great start!

Our K-3 teachers already busy with Professional Development on our first Monday of the new school year! Thank you Ms Rodriguez for leading this dedicated group of teachers!

Thank you to our Dads Club for organizing a crew to weed our garden beds. One step closer to having a beautiful garden!! 🪴 🌺

Thank you to @floridaaquarium , our Mitchell PTA and our Mitchell Foundation. Because of you our staff got to enjoy their first day back with a delicious breakfast and some fun at the Aquarium!! We can’t wait to see our students!! It is going to be a great year!!

Our Secretary, Principal, and Assistant Principal for the day were rockstars today! Loved watching them conduct classroom observations, serve in the cafeteria, read to students, do recess duty, and talk on the walkies all day ;) So much fun! @Mitchellhcps

Heroes don't always have to wear a cape or be a certain age! @Mitchellhcps 2nd-grader Jonathan Sanchez helped save his family in January after his house caught fire. Today, he was recognized for his heroic actions & was presented a plaque by @TampaFireRescue Chief Barbara Tripp.

So proud of our Mitchell hero!

Jonathan is a second grader at @mitchellelempta and @TampaFireRescue Chief Tripp presented him with this commendation for his heroic actions. Jonathan alerted his family to a house fire, likely saving their lives. We are proud of this outstanding student for his bravery!

Our music kiddos at @Mitchellhcps put on an amazing performance this morning! So proud of our amazing music teachers and students! My little Bobcat loved singing and clapping along 🎶 🎸 🥁 🎻

What a great weekend full of laughter and smiles! Thank you to our amazing PTA for a very successful Fun Festival/movie night. Also, thank you to our music teachers for a great 4th and 5th grade concert. What a talented group of students!!
