It's easy to hate, it's all some people get motivated by. Whether someone gets big, is new, mispeaks or even just someone to take their bad day out on!

People don’t hate failure. They hate watching someone win. There was a time when Jack Timothy @hbarcook was one of the most visible pillars in the Hedera ecosystem. He put his name, time, energy, and money on the line. Showed up every day, helped founders, took calls, promoted projects. Did what most talk about but never do. That version of him was praised. Until it wasn’t. The moment things went wrong, the tone flipped. Not to support, not to understanding, but to criticism and mockery. Not because he suddenly became a bad actor, but because he became too visible, too consistent, and too effective. And once someone stands out, people start waiting for them to fall. This isn’t exclusive to one person. Look at contributors around @HederaFndn or some other big names like DaRulerMM, filhetu, MichaelBanster, PermaBullh, etc Same pattern. Act in public. Gain traction. Start winning. Then the narrative shifts. That’s the real problem. If people get punished for trying to win, they stop doing business in public. When that happens, growth slows. When growth slows, belief fades. You can’t claim to be building a serious ecosystem while treating success like something suspicious. They don’t have to like it. They don’t have to agree. But when the instinct is to tear down anyone gaining traction, it doesn’t protect the space. It shrinks it. Because if most people had even a fraction of that success, they would have lost it twice as fast over far less. People will magnify the bad and downplay the good until it barely exists. Not everything here is a reflection of their past experiences, insecurities, or assumptions. Sometimes it’s just someone doing something they couldn’t. Things need to change.
