6 years ago today, Gracie almost died from what we later found out was Type 1 Diabetes. At the age of one, she went from a happy little girl, to having a cold to being unconscious in hospital Her life and ours was never going to be the same again. Today, I watched Gracie play football with her friends and win the parents player of the match award for her efforts in defence, showing that diabetes doesn't define her or stop her doing anything she wants to the same ability as anyone else. She might not be the next @gembon23 or @VirgilvDijk but she's certainly a solid defender and clear leader! She's such an ambassador for type 1 diabetes and although ill never be happy she has it, she makes me proud every single day through how she owns her condition. Remember the 4 Ts, Thirst, Toilet, Tired and Thin and make sure you spot the signs and get help as soon as you can #grassroots #grassrootsfootball #gbdoc #diabetes @Teamgrassroots_

@Kerr21Kerr Thank you, I have had a conversation with two people this morning both with totally opposing views so I was curious to see if this is just regional or national!

@MrJCook3 Good, organised by primary care so efficient (unlike hospital based care), runs on time and combined with foot screening. Results letter within a week. But I’m low risk so may well be different experience for others in my area.

Open question - What is your experience with getting your eyes screened? Curious to hear all points of view 👀
