Times columnist Fraser Nelson pointed out over the weekend that new Home Office statistics paint a striking picture: net migration has fallen dramatically since Labour entered government, now sitting around 80 per cent below the record highs reached under the Conservatives. And it is not just the headline figure shifting. Remove international students from the equation and long-term immigration levels are now “probably at a multi-year low”, Nelson wrote on his Substack — a remarkable turnaround after years of Tory chaos, broken promises and soaring numbers. The asylum backlog is also being rapidly reduced under Labour. After ballooning in the aftermath of Covid while successive Conservative ministers appeared paralysed and unwilling to grip the crisis, Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has begun making serious progress in clearing the system. Away from the Westminster psychodrama and endless Reform stunts, an uncomfortable reality is emerging for Labour’s opponents: the Government may quietly be delivering results where the Tories failed for years. Simon Prior, the Reform councillor, who said it was “good” a Sikh woman was raped has quit. Because of investigative journalists carrying out the due diligence that Reform failed to do and the ensuing social media backlash Keep the pressure on. Expose all of the bastards.

@RobertJenrick * The machine has been being marketed as a ‘silver bullet’ for potholes for half a decade. It isn’t. * JCB chairman Lord Bamford donated £200,000 to Reform in late 2025. * Jenrick was part of Government that oversaw 40% real-terms cuts to councils, causing the pothole epidemic.

A reminder that #Farage's undeclared £5,000,000 is his 18th such offence since becoming an MP. And 8 such offences when he was an MEP. Anybody else would be in jail by now.

Out of curiosity, why is there so much pressure on Starmer to resign But no pressure on Nigel Farage who took a £5,000,000 gift from a foreign billionaire and coincidentally started calling for the very thing the foreign billionaire wants for the UK, crypto deregulation?

Where gas sets prices, prices are higher. r = 0.91 across European electricity markets. Italy & UK: gas sets prices 75-80% of hours, avg €90-115/MWh. Finland: 15% of hours, €42/MWh. More in next newsletter on whether renewables mean lower prices: janrosenow.substack.com

As @SamCoatesSky was telling me last night, if the standards commissioner investigates and finds it should have been delayed, there’s the risk of a recall petition and a by-election in Clacton. He’s very, very worried and defensive.

A track record of dismissing women in the media and press who try to hold him to account… Bigger issue is this. If you received a personal gift of £5m from someone based overseas, would you think it fit and proper to declare it?

To move Britain back toward fossil fuels would be economic suicide. It would mean repeating the 2022–2026 energy crisis indefinitely: higher exposure to global gas shocks, higher import dependency, higher household bills and weaker industrial competitiveness. The UK’s net energy import dependency remained structurally high at 43.5% in 2025 In 2022, the gas shock was so extreme that Britain’s energy price cap jumped by 80%, from £1,971 to £3,549 a year, before the government had to intervene with the Energy Price Guarantee to prevent an even worse household crisis. The solution is the opposite: → More renewables → More nuclear → More storage → More grid investment → Hydro where possible Less exposure to foreign gas and oil markets In 2025, renewables generated a record 52.5% of UK electricity, with wind alone reaching 30%. Britain’s strategic objective should be clear: stop importing vulnerability, and start producing energy sovereignty at home.

🚨 NEW: Panorama investigated Christopher Harborne’s £10m donation to the Brexit Party back in 2020 - now, years later, fresh questions are being raised under strikingly similar circumstances. The old clip of Nigel Farage hanging up on a BBC interviewer when pressed about Harborne is resurfacing again.

He lives in Thailand. He goes by a Thai name. He holds 12% of Tether - a cryptocurrency that made $13bn last year. He has given Farage and Reform £22 million. He gave Farage £5m personally before he stood for parliament. After last night's historic results, this is the most important background read in British politics. Full story 👇
