#gbdoc Any T1D parents out there with a T1D child? My 13yo daughter was diagnosed 3 wks ago & I’m struggling. I feel so devastated though she’s coping well. I just don’t want her to have this. How to I learn to accept it?

Me telling T1D to #Foff as my teen was having terrific TIR until he "forgot" to dose for lunch today. Nothing but elevated BG since & to top it off has 1.1 ketones. Site change completed and now BG is finally dropping. 🙄 🖕

@Mrs_A_Bateman @LolaSmalls @Hamilton_CSD Hey Amanda — if I’m understanding right, you’re asking if it’s okay for 8th graders, yes? If so, definitely! It will be mostly used in middle schools, I think, as well as upper elementary. I know of high schools using it too! It was intentionally made to be broadly accessible.

Teachers in grades 4 and up. This is a must read aloud for your classroom. I highly recommend it as a read a loud and writing prompt! First person narrative,voice, self-love, empathy, etc.Middle school body shaming, self care, mental health, self esteem, etc. @Hamilton_CSD
