He frames it as a total abandonment of personal integrity. He says that MP's that are "floor crossing" are essentially selling their own beliefs for power. It proves their individual conviction has been lost and replaced by transactual desire to be on the winning side. The seat belongs to the PEOPLE of the riding. He argues that when voters see an MP "bought and paid for" they stop believing that the democratic process has ANY meaning which he views as a dangerous threat to the stability of the country. Saw my former CPC MP at the grocery store this morning. Gladu isn't planning on running again so she won't have to face the voters in Sarnia. Crossing was a "fuck you" to Poilievre because he wouldn't give her a keynote speaker spot at the January CPC convention.

I do not care if it is a Liberal, Conservative, NDP or even Green Riding - If a Elected Official crosses the floor this should be a Mandatory Bi-Election to ensure the Voter's are being represented. This should not be the choice of the individual - that is not how Canada Works.

If this happens, I will never vote in a Canadian federal election again. If MPs are allowed to switch teams without the consent of their constituents, there is no point having elections. This is not democracy, our Parliament is a farce.
