@NAFIS_NETWORK successfully conducted follow-up dialogue meetings in Gebiley and Garbahaadlay, bringing together 94 dialogue champions (47 women and 47 men). During the sessions, participants reflected on the previous dialogue sessions and the public meeting, highlighting key achievements and lessons learned while identifying areas for improvement. They also developed practical three-month action plans to guide the next phase, during which they will lead mini-dialogues at household and community levels to raise awareness and promote collective action against FGM/C and other harmful practices, marking an important step toward sustained, community-led change and stronger intergenerational collaboration. #EndFGM #CommunityDialogue #SocialImpact

#Healthcare should reach every doorstep, not only those near a facility. In 2025, through the #TakedaProject, NAFIS Network’s #MobileHealthTeams delivered life-saving services directly to hard-to-reach communities in #Togdheer and #Saraar in Somaliland. 31,461 lives reached. 14,322 patients treated. 17,082 empowered through prevention. 57 FGM survivors restored with fully funded care. This is not just service delivery. It is justice in action. It is dignity restored. Strengthening voices. Advancing leadership. NAFIS Network conducted a 3-day advocacy capacity-building training for 10 CLA Chairpersons in Hargeisa. The training enhanced their advocacy skills and deepened their understanding of the roles, responsibilities, and working context of female Change Agents delivering weekly SHG sessions. Empowering local leadership for lasting change 🌱 NAFIS Network successfully delivered a 2-day Capacity-Building Training of Trainers (ToT) for 10 new Change Agents from Hargeisa Cluster Level Associations (CLAs) – Phase II. Climate change is intensifying economic hardship in IDP communities, leading to livelihood crises and increasing the risk of child, early and forced marriage. A two-day session, 60 girls and young women champions were empowered to lead climate resilience actions and raise awareness, protecting children while strengthening household livelihoods. Ending FGM requires law, enforcement, and political courage. @NAFIS_NETWORK convened policymakers, experts, and civil society in a powerful public discussion in Hargeisa, where voices from every sector spoke passionately about the urgent need to protect girls’ rights and finalize the legal framework. The session was impressive,people made it clear that dialogue is done and that protecting girls cannot wait. While the Government of Somaliland has publicly affirmed zero tolerance for FGM, Existing draft of law is comprehensive, enforceable law criminalizing all forms of FGM, including ‘Sunna’ and medicalized practices, and has a clear enforcement mechanisms, its must be approved. Now it is time for the Somaliland government to move beyond commitment and take decisive action: approve and enact the anti‑FGM law, ensure strong enforcement and accountability, and provide the political leadership required to protect every girl’s rights, health, and future.
