Today I moderated the review of #SDG6 at #HLPF2026. Ultimately, SDG 6 is about people. Successful implementation requires people-centred approaches that put communities at the heart of decision-making. Financing and infrastructure, while essential, are not enough. Achieving SDG6 requires sound laws and policies, effective institutions, and good governance, with a special focus on women. We must work across sectors, societies and borders, guided by science and rooted in the rule of law. Establishing safeguards in carbon markets through a robust international #RuleOfLaw framework is essential, not only as a human rights issue, but as the foundation for achieving lasting and resilient climate outcomes that can withstand legal, social and environmental challenges. We co-organized an event in The Hague this week with @HCCH_TheHague that brought together experts, practitioners, academics, civil society representatives, and members of the diplomatic community to examine how legal frameworks and field-based practice can jointly support high-integrity carbon markets.

Strengthening accountability for international crimes requires reliable, admissible, and verifiable digital evidence, including information gathered from open sources. We co-organized a roundtable discussion in Kyiv with the Prosecutor's Training Center of Ukraine and the T.M.C. Asser Instituut on issues regarding the admissibility and authenticity of electronic evidence obtained from open sources in criminal proceedings concerning international crimes.
