When I was a school kid (1978) NASA public relations people did tours showing how the ceramic heat tiles on the space shuttle worked. They would heat a piece red hot with a torch, then with 30 seconds to a minute you could touch it without getting burned. The shielding has gotten better, now do your basic physics: Artemis gets red hot on reentry, but then has about 10 minutes of floating under parachutes with cool air flowing around it. Yes, we went around the moon.
