Late-term abortions (occurring 21 week) account for less than 1% of abortions performed annually in the USA. There are 8 facilities across the country that will perform a LTA, and access to it is HIGHLY restricted and regulated. No woman is walking into one of these facilities at 39 weeks pregnant and requesting an elective abortion because they no longer want to be pregnant.
