On Tuesday, the U.S. Supreme Court sided against a Colorado law banning conversion therapy. The ruling "is very likely to nullify" a similar ban in Minnesota, according to DFL Rep. Leigh Finke. kstp.com/kstp-news/top-…

Dear @chicagobulls, I am a lifelong fanatical Bulls fan. Been to many games, bought your merch, and supported loyally through ups and downs. Until today. My greatest loyalty is, as is Jaden's, to Jesus Christ and truth. And I am grateful to live in a nation that protects freedom of religion and freedom of speech. Your violation of the first amendment--and, even more problematically, your ideologically selective while culturally amenable cancelling of a man who did nothing more than hold to his convictions--is a tragic capitulation to the spirit of the age. I urge you to do the right thing and publicly apologize to Jaden, acknowledging the error of censoring a man for believing what Scripture says and what Jesus taught. Respect, @JadensIV. -a Chicago pastor

Easter reminds us, among other things, that sociopolitical conditions only matter so much.

I did a search of your account and you never posted about x, y, or z only makes sense if you dump all of your thoughts here. Some of you clearly are doing that. I am not.

1. Skip half the Education Finance committee about absenteeism. 2. Drink with fellow Republican @WalterHudson at Burger Moe's before session. 3. Vote to keep high-capacity magazines on the streets of Minnesota (after several drinks). 4. Get arrested for suspected drunk driving. 5. Smile for your picture! 🙂

Is saying “God is the gospel” short selling God? I had a dear friend as me some deep questions in the past couple days about purpose in existence. I gave him my honest reflection on a purpose as a creature and personhood purpose. Yet as I think about these broader concepts and the chief end of man I can’t help but think of how often we short sell the creator and sustainer of all things. Yes, God is the gospel- it’s the good news and his story of salvation is the best news on the face of the earth. Yet. It’s incomplete in His is-ness. Augustine puts it well in nailing our participation- “you have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in you.” Attributing Gods fullness to a single idea may be dangerous, but aligning us to our purpose in his grand design, can never be exhausted.

Yesterday, we pushed to advance bills to protect Minnesotans. Every Democrat voted in favor of moving these bills forward, and every Republican voted against them. Now the public knows whether their representative stands with kids or with ICE and the gun lobby.

Powerful and personal reflections from Francis Schaeffer on prayer, suffering, and the sovereignty of God during his battle with cancer in 1981: "God is not a dispensing machine. God is a personal God, and I must allow Him to answer my prayers in the light of His wisdom instead of my limitedness." Franky Schaeffer: "And that's not a cop-out?" Schaeffer: "Not at all. It's rooted in the heart of all things and that is, He's infinite; I'm finite. I'll tell you something, nothing could terrify me more, and I'm being very serious, nothing could terrify me more than that I could ask for anything today and get it, because I don't know enough." Franky: "Including, for your own health?" Schaeffer: "Oh, absolutely. Just as much as for anything." Franky: "Are you willing to say that as a person who, ok, let's face it, has cancer that's serious enough so it could be killing you?" Schaeffer: "Yeah, of course... If I could wave a wand or push a button and get rid of it, in one sense, of course I'd do it. Who wants cancer? Let's not kid ourselves. It's no pleasure to live with this thing on top my head all the time... But on the other hand, more profoundly, I think I can honestly say sitting here that I would rather trust God's wisdom than mine."
