Nobody wants to hear this but the 'stop buying coffee' advice is the most condescending thing ever said to a generation. $1,800 rent, $600 student loans, and wages that haven't kept up with inflation since 1979. Skipping a $6 latte every day saves you $1,560 a year. That is 0.8% of the median home price in America. The problem was never the coffee. The problem is nobody ever taught you what to actually do with the money you saved. Invest $1,560 a year from age 22 to 62 at 10% average returns. That's $870,000. The latte wasn't the issue. The missing financial education was.

@MasterClutch_ He needs to be fired after this season. Shouldn’t have a ref that is making game-altering calls based on emotions.

@FragenFrage It’s interesting the inflation calculator says $0.10 in 1979 = $0.45 today. Most coffee places charge $6+. Maybe the coffee just got a whole lot better?😂 Crazy how much it has outpaced broad inflation.

@WallStSimple In 1979 a cup of coffee was a dime. (There was no such thing as good coffee in the US).

@Vance_Roberts5 Exactly. All I really had was a class that taught us to apply for jobs and budget but it wasn’t comprehensive at all.

@WallStSimple And not just a quick personal finance half a semester. That was my only option. We always need to glorify investing and stop acting like it’s gambling. They are far different

@yannis_r It’s quite wild to think of some of the required courses in high school compared to financial education, which often doesn’t even have an elective course.

@SleeperVikings Vikings haven’t had someone like him since. CJ Ham was solid but not quite Asiata. If they signed someone like him their red zone efficiency would skyrocket. Jones got stuffed inside the 5 so many times.
