Congratulations to Professor Ailsa Hart, IBD Research Lead at St Mark’s. 🌟 At ECCO 2025, Professor Hart presented the latest results of SC guselkumab for moderate to severe active Crohn’s disease at the prestigious Saturday plenary session. Albeit retrospective, an important reassuring data on safety of GLP1s weight reduction in IBD. I tell my pts that Obesity+associated HTN/diabetes/hyperlipedmia end up killing far more IBD pts than (fortunately very very rare now) death d/t IBD itself. This is whats at stake !

Now in press! We invite you to have a read of our @ibdgc @NIDDKgov prospective post surgery CD study. We believe the #microbiome composition in the tissue of the neo TI and possibly the colon also can predict recurrence of #crohns disease after ileal resection. Potential for predictive tools and microbial intervention. Diet? Better probiotics? Huge credit to former @SinaiHealth Advanced IBD fellow Cristian Hernandez-Rocha for leading this effort.
