@DeLaApe @yugalabs @v1punks The metaphor I prefer is “v1 punks” are empty broken frames that used to hold The CryptoPunks. Matt and John replaced the frames (because broken) and “v1s” only have a Punk illustrated at all because the wrapper fills in the blank. As such “v1s” won’t be receiving IP rights.

I sometimes think about the market for early blockchain collectibles like a strong rope. It's relatively limp until a certain amount of force (buying interest) is applied. Once the rope's slack is gone, you can't do much to stretch it further.
