Most companies talk about AI agents in theory. @bookingcom shipped one that handles thousands of customer conversations per day. Here's what they built: Their autonomous agent helps accommodation partners respond to guest inquiries faster and more accurately. The agent can suggest pre-written templates, generate custom responses, or intelligently step aside when it shouldn't answer (𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘵). It already processes 𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆 out of ~250,000 total partner-guest exchanges. Plus early results are giving 70% boost in user satisfaction, fewer follow-up messages, and significantly faster response times. The agent uses @weaviate_io for semantic search of response templates. When a guest message comes in, the system: • Embeds the message using MiniLM (chosen after testing multiple models for recall@k performance) • Performs k-nearest-neighbors search in Weaviate to find the 8 closest matching templates • Filters results with a similarity threshold to avoid weak matches • Returns semantically relevant templates that match the 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 of the question, not just keywords They stream template updates in real-time via Kafka, so the Weaviate index always reflects the latest partner content. No stale data. The full system runs on Kubernetes with: - LangGraph as the agentic framework - FastAPI for the web layer - GPT-4 Mini for reasoning (via internal LLM gateway with prompt-injection detection) - Multiple tools: Weaviate for template search, GraphQL for property details, reservation data retrieval The honest assessment in their blog post really reflects the current state of building agents: complex agentic systems get expensive fast in both latency and compute cost. They had to think about efficiency from day one, not as an afterthought. story behind "why netflix built fast.com" is brilliant. so, netflix had a massive fight with ISPs around 2014-2016. ISPs were slowing down netflix on purpose. they wanted more money from netflix customers got bad streaming. but ISPs just blamed netflix. netflix had to pay comcast, verizon, at&t and time warner for direct connections to their networks. but in 2016, they launched fast dot com, clever part - It's not testing your general internet speed. It's testing your speed to netflix's servers specifically. so when someone complained about buffering, netflix could say "run fast dot com." If it's slow, the ISP is the bottleneck. suddenly millions of people had a tool to prove their ISP was the problem ISPs couldn't hide anymore. netflix positioned themselves as the transparent good guys fighting for customers while ISPs looked like greedy monopolies they solved a pr problem and a customer service problem with one simple website I guess, that's how you win a corporate war

النهارده ١٤ أكتوبر بتمر ٣٢ سنة على تسجيل موسيقى "رحيل" أول أعمالي في التأليف الموسيقي واللي سجلتها بعد تخرجي من الجامعة ١٩٩٣....وتم إصدارها في ألبوم موسيقى بنفس الأسم سنة ١٩٩٤. موسيقى "رحيل" كانت في وقتها موسيقى جديدة ومختلفة عن السائد وكمان كانت بمثابة عودة تأليف الموسيقى البحتة للساحة الفنية في مصر واللي كانت منحصرة في موسيقى الأفلام والمسلسلات فقط.... موسيقى" رحيل" في وقتها كانت واجهة للقنوات الفضائية المصرية وال Nile TV واستخدمتها مصر للطيران على رحلاتها وكانت مصاحبة للأفلام التسجيلية والترويجية عن السياحة والتاريخ المصري... موسيقى "رحيل" تم وتوزيعها في أوروبا وأمريكا على إسطوانات وإذاعتها في عدة إذاعات عربية وعالمية وكانت سبب عضويتي في جمعية المؤلفين والملحنين الدولية في باريس SACEM.... "رحيل" كمان كانت تذكرة دخولي لعالم الموسيقى التصويرية فيما بعد... موسيقى رحيل تأليف وتوزيع موسيقي وإيقاعات و Synthesizer عمرو إسماعيل صولو عود طارق مرزوق صولو كوله إبراهيم كوله هندسة صوتية عمرو شاكر
