@CricketOGs At 8, where the opposition will think it's time to cut the tail.

The superstar of the 90s and early 2000s Lance ‘Zulu’ Klusener He used to bat at number 8 or 9. When he batted in those lower positions, he dominated and destroyed the opposition. South Africa at that time had a stacked top order, which allowed them to hide Klusener at the bottom and give him a license to swing freely. During the 1999 World Cup, he repeatedly walked into absolute disaster situations and saved the day from the bottom of the scorecard: Against Sri Lanka: He came in at number 9 when South Africa collapsed to 115/7. He blasted 52 not out off just 45 balls (including hitting 22 runs in the final over). Against Zimbabwe: He came in at number 9 with the team crumbling at 106/7 and scored a measured 52. Against England: He batted at number 8, smashing 48 not out. The Semi-Final vs Australia: He batted at number 8, scoring 31 not out off 16 balls before the tragic run-out. He started as a bowling all-rounder, taking 8 wickets on his Test debut. But his batting became too explosive to ignore.

The 1999 Cricket World Cup had the best jerseys. These iconic 1999 kits featured oversized fits, bold colors, and unique team-specific graphics from Southern Cross stars and lightning bolts to silver ferns, tigers, and lions. Which one is your favorite? Australia India Pakistan Sri Lanka New Zealand South Africa England Zimbabwe Bangladesh Kenya

@SanjayGandhi41 I don't know how, but after performing brilliantly, South African players somehow lose the match every time.

Last night, another fearless South African southpaw finisher backed himself with the tail-ender, only for the non-striker to get run out. Klusener & Miller: two legends who dragged us to the edge of glory, only for that cruel mix-up 💔 #IPL2026

"Zulu wasn't just a player; he was a cheat code in a sleeveless sweater. 🇿🇦🔥 The stat that always blows my mind? In that 1999 World Cup, he was Player of the Tournament with a batting average of 140.5 and a strike rate of 122.1. In an era where a strike rate of 80 was 'fast,' he was playing T20 cricket 20 years before it existed. He remains the gold standard for every finisher today. If Zulu was playing in 2026, the IPL auction would probably break the internet! 🏏📈

@LostPlayhouse Sachin was never a full-time bowler, hence his bowling stats are ordinary. My point was that he was not only the greatest batter but also had top class skills in bowling and fielding that made him a truly complete player.

@NonPlyingChar You do realise that among bowlers who took more than 70 FC wickets, and there are thousands of them, Sachin's average (with just 71 wkts in 310 matches) is the worst of any player in history (61.74)? Please stop reinventing him as a master bowler when he was nothing of the sort.

Sachin Tendulkar wasn’t just the greatest batter ever. He was the closest thing cricket has ever seen to a perfect cricketer, not just in technique but in his total presence. He bowled medium pace early in his career, then switched to spin , off-spin and leg-spin, depending on the batsman, changing styles mid-spell like it was nothing. He was a true genius who read the game and batsmen, and bowled accordingly. In the field he was elite. He was pinpoint accurate, remember his match-winning catch of Inzy. Off the field he was the ultimate gentleman- calm, humble, and respectful in every interview, with zero controversy. Pure class personified, he is the true ambassador of cricket. Listen to his retirement speech and you will realise how great he was.

@NonPlyingChar 1999 world cup also had best format in my opinion with each group stage match having importance instead of playing countless matches to ensure some teams aren't out in first round.
