5,000+ likes in 2 hours and the Bungie store is almost always sold out, restocked, sold out.. You think if Highguard or Concord had a merch store they’d sell literally anything? If Bungie play the long game with Marathon which I assume they will, it will be profitable. People love mentioning copies sold but don’t mention the amount of people including myself who buy merch, the deluxe edition, skins, etc. #Marathon

The GDC survey paints a different picture if you look at how games actually shipped over the past year. I speculated in my article that negative sentiment around Microsoft/Xbox drove some of the responses, and it's thoroughly earned given Microsoft's contributions towards destroying society with AI, mass layoffs, etc. But in reality developers are still targeting Xbox because its users are engaged and spendy. Sony itself brought Helldivers 2 to Xbox knowing how much it would sell.
