A former Israeli intelligence officer openly called for nuking Iran in a broadcast, framing catastrophic measures as the only way to achieve “total victory.” Tal Ornan, formerly of Intelligence Unit 504, spoke to Channel 14, arguing that conventional military action alone would be insufficient to subdue Iran’s regime. Ornan compared the Iranian leadership to Nazi Germany and the Japanese Empire, highlighting what he described as fanatical resistance and extreme willingness to fight to the death. He claimed there are only two ways to impose total control over Iran: a full-scale invasion reminiscent of Normandy or the use of non-conventional weapons, including nuclear options. He warned that the government’s current measures would fail, no matter how many are killed, and called for “total war” to achieve his goals. Iran’s population is around 92 million, with roughly 50 percent women and over 20 percent children, meaning in such a scenario a large portion of casualties would be women and children.

The area where this scene was filmed is known as the “Triangle of Death” (Latifiya, Yousifiya, Mahmudiya) and was one of the most dangerous zones for U.S. forces, with the majority of residents being Sunni.
