Do I think the US should militarily back an Argentinian takeover over the Falklands. Of course not. But I do find hilarious the sudden surge of faux British patriotism when half of England melts down every time they see the St. George flag. If I were British I’d spend more time trying to save my own nation from the third world takeover they’ve invited upon themselves and less time rage tweeting at Americans.

In my area everything is E10. There’s one new station that has the E15 as “Unleaded 88” it’s slightly cheaper and gives worse MPG. No clue about the original post saying they’re not taking E10, I assumed typo and they meant E15 not being taken. Nobody (stations) has tanks and pumps for it. Ultimately doesn’t matter: Ethanol in gas bad m’kay, ethanol mandates are greenwashing theater at best and government overreach at worst. Brought to you by the same nipple heads who required MTBE and all the seasonal and regional gas blends that contribute to the refining and distribution nightmare that bites consumers in the ass every time there’s a supply problem (hurricane, geopolitics, refinery explosion).

The Trump EPA just unleashed cheaper E10 fuel, resulting in more domestic supply, and up to 25¢/gal savings. 3,000+ stations are ready to go, but NY, CA, MD, and VA are bizarrely blocking it for their residents. This makes absolutely ZERO sense. Let Americans buy gas at less cost!

@OGPirateRoy @The_x_Truth @epaleezeldin @kate_p45 Look near local race tracks. Race car motors use non ethanol and smart gas stations near the tracks will have at least 1 pump with it.

Regardless, my lawn mower isn’t a dragster. Ethanol is hygroscopic so it’s going to draw in humidity and I’ll need to pull apart the carb after water gets in it. Likewise my car isn’t a dragster and while it has been designed to use ethanol containing fuels… the mileage isn’t what it could be using straight gas. I don’t care about octane I want energy density and storage stability.

@livinindacracks @OGPirateRoy @epaleezeldin @kate_p45 You know farmers get paid to throw away corn right? Also ethanol is not shit, its literally racing fuel, anything over 50% ethanol is about 110 octane, just need to run larger injectors and viton seals and its the same price per mile.

By rust I mean the entire mower rusted out because I didn’t tarp it, for a decade, as I said. And I’m retracting the “I think” — verified that indeed in older equipment ethanol in fuel did damage gaskets etc. What’s your goal here? To prove to me that ethanol isn’t a poor additive to fuel? To be clear, those are rhetorical questions and do not require a pedantic response. You won’t be changing my opinion, or the facts. Get bent.

@OGPirateRoy @epaleezeldin @kate_p45 And 'rust' (actually oxidation) is caused by oxygen, not by gasoline. You can verify that rocket science by noticing tanks full of fuel don't rust out. Empty tanks exposed to oxygen and the environment do.

Some guy at the gym every morning 6am. He takes the 45lb plates, all of them. He loads one bar and he does one rep and sits for 20 minutes. Then unloads and he leaves, he does this everyday. We hated him, and nicknamed him the plate dragon. People started coming in at 5:45 to beat him. He'd just wait smiling and he would take them at 6. One rep, sit then leaves. @OGPirateRoy @epaleezeldin @kate_p45 You should check larger gas stations they often have a couple pumps that say "boat" or "recreational gas" that will not have ethanol.

Carter’s Gasahol was not forced and people stopped using it because it was destroying gaskets I think. And MTBE was the main octane booster until that was found to be leaching though tanks into the environment. Until mandates came in to require ethanol in the gas mid 2000’s ? never had a problem. Used to leave gas in the mower over the Winter, can of gas would last a couple years. Mower would die of rust because I didn’t tarp it for a decade.

@OGPirateRoy @epaleezeldin @kate_p45 Jimmy Carter put ethanol in gasoline back in the 1970's. It's the main octane booster to replace lead. You've had it your entire life running gas engines. This is not new, and your dead mowers and trimmer have nothing to do with 10% moonshine in your fuel.

@BradHyatt5150 @epaleezeldin @kate_p45 I’m behind enemy lines here… there are no stations within an hour of me that have real gas. I might be able to get AVGas but I think that has lead. I’m contemplating not caring about that anymore.

@OGPirateRoy @epaleezeldin @kate_p45 Traveling around from home, Indiana, I found many stations with pure gas. In Oklahoma the pumps had either pure or Ethanol and in Texas stations only had pure gas.

I didn’t think it would matter, any ethanol going to suck in water and make the can not so good to the last drop. I’ve taken to buying a new can every year. Never let it get down to the water zone. We’ll see what happens. Started watching a video on removing the ethanol but not really a fan of having to do industrial processes a couple times a year.
