The current state of Web3 gaming is honestly depressing. I’ve spent over 5 years of my life in this space. Between 2020 and 2024, the industry raised around $17B, and yet we failed to ship anything truly great The hard truth is that most teams were extremely incompetent. Some were outright scams. Others genuinely tried everything, but their theses simply didn’t work The result is obvious. Everyone got rekt. Today, VCs and investors have basically zero appetite for Web3 gaming. Not now, and probably not for the next few years, after getting burned too many times There are still a few teams actively trying to bring light back to the category. Projects like Gigaverse, Cambria, Off The Grid, Axie Infinity, Fableborne, and a handful of indie games are still pushing forward But if they fail, Web3 gaming will likely remain in the dark for years, until a real tech breakthrough or a true indie hit changes the narrative That said, despite this brutal reality, I’m still bullish on the Web3 gaming thesis. I believe it’s inevitable And in the short term, we may still see degen seasons performing well, especially around ecosystems like MegaETH and Abstract, particularly close to their TGEs

Open Colosseum will be returning soon.
We had to take it down and rework it because it was too expensive to run in perpetuity with all of the web3 and multiplayer integrations we had.
The new version of Open Colosseum will still feature multiplayer but now will be so cheap for us to run that we never have to remove it again.
It will also feature a brand new single player campaign mode that players can grind!
A lot of optimizations are being made and we can’t wait for the relaunch!
