Short version: EU wants to add the 2 GHz MSS band (used for satellite cellphone communication) to a centralized and simplified DSA procedure that streamlines the band allocation, rendering basically similar what was is in place for terrestrial cellphone frequencies.
DogeDesigner@cb_doge

BREAKING: SpaceX warns Europeans could lose access to Starlink because of a new EU proposal that favors local companies over better technology. • The EU wants to reserve part of the 2 GHz direct-to-device satellite spectrum for European operators, limiting access for companies like Starlink. • SpaceX warned the proposal could leave Europeans without advanced satellite-to-phone services and create interference risks for emergency communications. • Starlink has been a communications lifeline for Ukraine since Russia’s invasion and remains critical for civilian, emergency, and military connectivity. • More than 50,000 Starlink terminals are operating across Ukraine today. • Ukraine became the first country in Europe to deploy Starlink direct-to-cell services, allowing ordinary smartphones to connect directly to satellites. • SpaceX says the EU proposal prioritizes where a company is incorporated instead of technical performance, economics, and consumer benefit. • Reports indicate some EU officials specifically wanted to curb Starlink’s expansion in Europe. • FCC Chairman Brendan Carr warned the U.S. could take reciprocal action if Europe discriminates against providers like Starlink. Starlink is the best technology available today. The public interest is best served when the best technology is allowed to compete.

@JanMHoffmann @cb_doge They are not banning Starlink. They are redefining the MSS band with new frequencies in the 2 GHz spectrum. Starlink can keep operations by basically submitting a new request under the Digital Services Act for certain bands. Allocation would be similar to cellphone frequencies.

@cb_doge I'm actually losing my mind. The EU is banning every major technology that's going to define the future. Claude 5.0, Tesla FSD, and now Starlink? They're completely insane. WTF.

@MartyJ777 @cb_doge Nah. 2/3 of the MSS 2 GHz band would be dedicated to commercial services, basically allowing any company that requests frequencies under the Digital Services Act to have simplified access to the band allocation procedure.

@cb_doge Kinda sad when you use legislation too suppress competition rather than encouraging EU companies too step forward and innovate. This is codifying stagnation.

@Lisaslegssss @Dark0ss_ The fact that, even in our world, there is still a technological level convergence. Like even in remote parts of Africa they have cars, cellphones and information. Teyvat is a continent where in a 200km span (lore wise) we go from gas lamps to literal computers.

China-haters spend their time posting pics of China from a decade ago, and just don't understand what China has become. Hundreds of Chinese cities have surpassed the West in HSR, low altitude economy, robots, EVs, 5G, and so much more. Visit China.🇨🇳

@jbcourt @usanewshq Energy loss (going from converter to battery to motors) due to energy transformation is enough to make that a zero sum game. Basically he just made his car 100% energy efficient simply because the added power generation is now the one being sacrificed for energy transformation.

close, but not quite and mixed up two separate things. pilots do change the angle of attack with control inputs but what you're seeing in this video is not that. The flapping and twisting happens when we have non zero airspeed, due to what's called dissymmetry of lift. Explained simply imagine helicopter moving forward, the advancing blade sees higher relative airspeed so it generates more lift, it flaps up on the hinge. As it rises, the relative wind changes and twists, its effective angle of attack decreases, so lift reduces. Conversely, the retreating blade sees lower airspeed so generates less lift, so it flaps down, twists the other way, increasing its angle of attack which then increases lift. As a result lift is equalised across the rotor disc. If these passive hinges didn’t exist the helicopter would roll when not trying to move. I imagine someone learnt this the hard way at first.

When you first see a helicopter as a kid you're like "oh I get it, like a plane pointing up" And then later you learn it's just so much more retarded than you could've thought.

The World Cup has turned America into a discovery channel for the rest of the world. And they are not handling it well. In the best possible way. Here is what they are discovering: Free public restrooms. Europeans pay every time. Free water at every restaurant. Just appears. Free refills. Coffee. Sodas. Iced tea. Unlimited. Free chips and salsa before you even order. Free warm bread with dinner. Ice in drinks like civilized people. Air conditioning everywhere. Not a moral debate. A fact. Parking lots attached to the actual place you are going. Drive throughs where the food comes to the car while you sit in it. Ranch dressing by the gallon. Tex-Mex that cannot be explained only experienced. Dental care that actually works. Buccee’s. There are no words for Buccee’s. Then they found the grocery stores. Five of them within one mile. Each one the size of an aircraft hangar. Burgers. Steaks. Brisket. Ribs. Pulled pork. Lamb. Veal. Every cut of every animal ever domesticated by human civilization available in one refrigerated aisle at ten in the morning on a Tuesday. The Germans stood in the meat section for forty five minutes. In silence. Processing. They finally understand why we do not have trains. We have roads wide enough for the cars we actually drive. Parking lots the size of small European countries. Airports in every city worth visiting. Why would we need trains. The Germans are taking ranch home by the bottle. The Dutch found queso and briefly lost the ability to speak. The Japanese are photographing HEB like it is the Louvre. The Czechs are weeping in West, Texas. Welcome to America. Everything is free, enormous, air conditioned, comes with chips, and has five grocery stores within a mile that will sell you any cut of any animal you have ever imagined. Write that down. 🦋

@caviterginsoy @Andercot @Spacecolonize Is the cyclical. To move the helicopter, there needs to be an imbalance along the rotation, to create push in a certain direction. The blades change the angle of attack based on the input given by the pilot.

Genshin started originally as a “techomagic” phantasy settings with tech going from the 1400s to the early 1800s. Elemental energy stable enough to be used as source of energy and improvement. Now seems is a technological world that went so grimdark it reverted to magic.
