Look at this! I’m sorry to keep harping on about this, but we are less than 24 hours post launch and people are already doing so much cool stuff.

Marathon is far better than I expected, better than everyone told me it would be, and it’s far better than the internet crowd will care to admit. The internet has grown insufferable to the tune of trying to cancel any game they would have never tired to begin with while praising the 95th iteration of the same game they’ve bought every year. Stop listening to these people, try new games, new genres, and most of all, it’s a game, have fun.

@vesseloftauceti Just to add some insight. I have a 7700x, 5070 and 32gb RAM.
I play at 1440p using DLSS quality with high settings and I’m getting around 105-125fps with the average about 110fps on all maps. Vsync off.

I lowered everything, turned on DLAA, and I’m still having framerate issues. It’s definitely a lack of CPU optimization. Even have a guy who’s on a 5070 saying it’s only using about 55-60% of the GPU after they tested Marathon. Ggs on the easy dunks on me but it’s nice to know I’m on the right track

Think I agree with this.
Personally having no issues with Marathons difficulty. But I DO think it’s scaring players off very early.
People are playing 2/3 games getting giga-wiped by the tough AI and just calling it there.
Would benefit from a slight tune imo.

Marathon seems dead on arrival. The “content is coming we swear” approach doesn’t work for live service games, there’s too much to play and momentum is too important.

Hopefully it can maintain it, really solid base and it’s always nice to see new games do well. 🤞
