Brett Scrogham was murdered in a parking garage on May 28th.
Police confirm they had camera footage and eyewitnesses heard a shot and saw a man running.
THEY DID NOT RELEASE A DESCRIPTION OF THE KILLER
An arrest was made on June 3rd.
SIX DAYS LATER
For 6 days a murderer was free on our streets while police refused to provide a description of the suspect.
I wonder why they refused to reveal details…
The suspect could have kiIIed more unsuspecting people and could potentially have been found sooner.
The police chief is of course a DEI hire who was celebrated as the first lesbian woman to hold the position.

BREAKING — The Marion County Prosecutor has charged the 14-year-old boy arrested for the murder of 23-year-old Brett Scrogham.
The teen faces charges of murder, felony murder, attempted robbery resulting in serious bodily injury and dangerous possession of a firearm.
As with Indiana law, the charges are currently in juvenile court.
Prosecutors have filed a petition to waive the case to adult court.
The teen had no prior criminal history, according to Prosecutor Ryan Mears.
Mears released the following statement:
"At the center of this case is a family living through an unimaginable loss. The outpouring of love for Brett Scrogham speaks to the impact he had on his friends, family, and community.
A 14-year-old is alleged to have made a tragic and devastating decision to kill someone with a firearm. Prior to this incident, this 14-year-old had no involvement with the criminal justice system. Despite that, elected officials from outside Marion County rushed to suggest that this case supports the false narrative of a broader pattern involving repeat violent offenders. That is not true.
"We will continue working to uncover the facts and seek justice for Brett and his family by being tough on crime, and smart on justice.
That must include a serious conversation about how and why firearms continue to find their way into the hands of young people. Until we address the ease with which children and teenagers can access guns, we will continue to see families devastated by preventable acts of violence."

The 14-year-old is charged with murder, felony murder, attempted armed robbery, and possession of a firearm. We still don't know where the teenager got the gun.

My response to murder and robbery charges filed against a 14-year-old in Brett Scrogham's case, Marion County's juvenile crime crisis, and the shroud of secrecy in the juvenile justice system.
📽️0:32 Moral clarity needed regarding accountability

Déjà vu x 2. When I first saw the headlines, I didn't realize there were 3 separate shootings for 2 different houses. So terrifying for everyone in the area.
May 23: house 1
May 29: house 2, which is ~ 2 miles away
June 3: house 2 again
Somebody knows something. Contact IMPD or Crime Stoppers: 317-262-TIPS.

The status quo in Marion County of coddling criminals has to stop. As your next prosecutor, I will:
🎯Tackle juvenile crime head-on: clear standards and real consequences; we can't afford to ignore this crisis or treat juvenile offenders like they are the victims.
🎯Refocus the office away from political trends and back towards the core mission: enforcing the law, seeking justice for victims, and protecting the public.
🎯Repair partnerships across the justice and public safety systems: public safety in Marion County requires an all-hands-on-deck approach rather than a prosecutor who alienates police, surrounding prosecutors, the statehouse, and every other potential partner.
Thanks, @hammerandnigel and @93wibc.
