If the purpose of strict gun control is to identify and preemptively exclude demonstrably dangerous individuals, then such an outcome represents a significant failure of enforcement, intelligence integration, or both. One would reasonably expect that a system designed to prevent misuse would have identified and stopped precisely this type of threat before access was granted. The question, then, is not whether laws exist on paper, but whether centralized permission-based frameworks can reliably function as their proponents claim, especially when they fail in the very scenarios they are most frequently invoked to justify their necessity.
