From what I’m hearing, the next move Ghana makes could affect 🇿🇦South africa’s economy drastically. We might not even see them at the world cup due to sanctions….I’m loving this!🇬🇭

SOUTH AFRICA The African Federation of Miners and Mineral Wealth has made five demands on the Government of South Africa in an official statement signed by its General Secretary, Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim. The demands made in the wake of allegations of xenophobia in South Africa are; 1. Take immediate and decisive measures to end all attacks against African workers, especially miners. 2. Investigate, prosecute, and hold accountable all individuals and groups involved in violence, incitement, and campaigns. 3. Guarantee the protection, dignity, legal rights andsafety of all African nationals residing and working in South Africa. 4. Launch comprehensive national campaigns against xenophobia. 5. Protect African workers in the mining, industrial, and informal sectors from discrimination, targeting, and violence.   The Federation can be reached at info@afmmw.com.

We should not blame the @USEmbassySA. They even worked on a Sunday for the first time ever and have been only too helpful, bending over backwards. The fault is entirely on our side, and making statements against the US staffers is not helping the situation for future applications

It could have been nearly 1.5 billion Africans supporting Bafana Bafana, not just 62 million South Africans. Unfortunately, South Africa’s strained relationship with many people across the continent has cost them the goodwill and support of a large section of Africa. Rather than having the backing of almost 1.5 billion Africans, South Africa often finds itself at odds with the other 1.438 billion people across the continent.
Cyril Ramaphosa 🇿🇦@CyrilRamaphosa

Dear Fellow South African,   In just under two weeks’ time, Bafana Bafana will participate in the opening match in this year’s FIFA World Cup against Mexico.   They carry with them the best wishes of more than 62 million South Africans who will be cheering them on at every stage of the tournament. Bafana Bafana are taking part in the World Cup for the first time since we hosted the event in 2010. 🔗 tinyurl.com/4bb9jay4

@ajeezayGH Their trade, business or profession is not needed here and which specialised skill is that? How do you claim to bring those to a developed country, especially when they are needed in your home country? Foreigners are a burden because illegal ones don't even have tax numbers

One uncomfortable conversation Black South Africans 🇿🇦 keep avoiding: Many of the Africans who move to South Africa 🇿🇦 arrive with a trade, profession, business, or specialized skill. Yet some of the loudest anti-migrant voices act as if every foreign African is a burden on the economy. If migrants were contributing nothing, why are they competing with them in the first place?” 🤔🇿🇦🌍
