A walk of commitment to deliver to our people through the Eastern Kenya Integrated University (EKIU). We will do what God has given us authority to do! Romans 8:31: "If God is for us, who can be against us?"

Today, the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Education, Hon. @HonJuliusMigos , officially awarded a Letter of Interim Authority to Eastern Kenya Integrated University (EKIU). This important milestone marks a major step forward in the establishment of EKIU, paving the way for the institution to commence its academic, research and administrative operations. The granting of the Interim Authority reflects the government’s confidence in the university’s vision, governance structures, and commitment to advancing higher education and research in Kenya. This journey to this historic day has not been easy. It has taken 18 years of dedication, commitment and sacrifice a true testament that with a bold vision, no dream is too far to achieve. EKIU is poised to play a transformative role in expanding access to quality university education, fostering innovation, and contributing to sustainable development in Kenya and beyond. Present was the Chancellor of the University, Archbishop Dr. Timothy Ndambuki; PS Higher Education, Dr. @Bettymuganda17 ; Chairman of the Commission for University Education (CUE), Prof. James Onyango; and colleagues from the Ministry, CUE and EKIU. Special congratulations to EKIU fraternity for this monumental accomplishment!

The Kikoko–Mitini Kwa Malu–Kyambeke road has been a recurring campaign promise, for more than 60 years and particularly since 2016. In our Kaiti Constituency Economic Blueprint under the BETA agenda, we identified this road as a priority project, and President @WilliamsRuto committed to delivering it within his first term. Pleased to share that, in the coming months, the road will be fully tarmacked, easing transport in our area. A promised made, a commitment fulfilled! For our people in this part of Kenya, the Singapore Dream is real!

Joined the family and friends of Hon. Richard Makenga in Kyang’a Village, Kaiti Constituency, for the final celebration of the life of their beloved mother, Mwaitu Elizabeth Makenga. Mwaitu lived an exemplary life and was deeply respected within her community. She was a devoted Christian and a committed church leader whose faith and service touched many. May Mwaitu’s soul rest in eternal peace!

Joined the East Africa Stakeholder Engagement Meeting on Evidence-Informed Decision Making organized by Cochrane Kenya – the East Africa Hub. The event convened a diverse group of leaders and practitioners from government, development partners, academia, civil society, philanthropy, and the private sector to explore how evidence is generated, shared, and applied to inform decision-making in Kenya and across the East Africa region. We exchanged ideas and shared knowledge on the need to: (1) strengthen alignment between evidence systems and development priorities; (2) identify opportunities for coordinated investment in evidence generation and use; and (3) shape practical, implementable outputs that can drive impact. Effective evidence-informed decision-making is increasingly recognized as essential for strengthening national policy and advancing inclusive, transformative development.

Joined National and County Government leaders during the launch of Wamama na Ruto – Kitui Edition, graciously hosted by Hon. Esther Ndile. The event was graced by PS Charles Hinga (Housing and Urban Development), who highlighted ongoing initiatives under his docket and unveiled upcoming projects valued at nearly KES 1 billion. I took the opportunity to share updates on the progress of key projects outlined in the Kitui County and South Eastern Region Economic Blueprints/Charters, which H.E. President @WilliamsRuto signed with our people in 2022. Leaders and participants expressed appreciation for the significant strides the government continues to make in advancing development in the region. Among those in attendance were Amb. Lynnette Mwende Ndile, Sen. Beth Syengo, Commissioner Ben Muasya, Kitui County Speaker, Hon. Katisya, UDA executive team and other leaders. #Kazi_iendelee

We had the pleasure of hosting delegates from the African Urban Forum during their visit to @konzatech for a learning tour and engagement session. The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the significant progress made in the development of the city, as well as key milestones achieved in the establishment of the @Kenya_aist . The engagement fostered meaningful discussions, knowledge exchange, and insights into sustainable urban development, innovation ecosystems, and the future of smart cities in Africa.

Attended a Sunday service at A.I.C Kivandini in Wote, Makueni County, where we joined the congregation in worship and fellowship. It was a spiritually uplifting moment that reminded us of the importance of faith, unity, and community. Following the service, we participated in a fundraiser in support of the church choir as they prepare for the video production of their upcoming album. The choir continues to play a vital role in enriching worship and spreading inspiring messages through music. It is encouraging to see the commitment and talent within our local churches, and I commend the choir for their dedication. Supporting such initiatives not only nurtures creativity but also strengthens community bonds and promotes the growth of gospel ministry. I was joined by the area MCA, Hon. Mateso, Dr. Damaris Maweu of KEMRI among other leaders. Wishing the choir great success in their upcoming project.

Catching up with my dear brother, Dr. Divine Fuh, after such a long time was both refreshing and deeply nostalgic. Together, several years ago, alongside a vibrant community of young researchers, we co-designed the Next Generation of Researchers and the Africa Youth Entrepreneurs, continental platforms aimed at nurturing and strengthening the role of youth in Africa’s transformation journey. At the time, I was serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Tokyo and as a Program Coordinator of the Education for Sustainable Development in Africa (ESDA) Program at the United Nations University, where I had the privilege of coordinating partnerships between Japanese and African universities. In close collaboration with Divine, then a Senior Lecturer at the University of Cape Town, we implemented one of the most impactful exchange initiatives, the Global Field Exercises. This program brought together students from both institutions, offering them invaluable experiential learning opportunities and hands-on exposure across diverse contexts. It is truly inspiring to reflect on how far we have come, and the seeds we planted continue to shape a new generation of leaders and innovators across the continent.
