This abominable situation was brought to you by the Tories. They turbocharged welfare spending and hollowed out our military Shameless arsonist firefighters.
Kemi Badenoch@KemiBadenoch

We are now spending five times more on welfare than on defence. This must change! The Conservatives will bring back the two-child benefit cap and use the money for defence. The security of the United Kingdom is our priority, and we have a plan for a stronger country.

@BritishYusuf Data centres power everything from banking, apps, video games, your online shop, as well as training AI models like the ones that'll be going into robots and GPUs. Maybe stop speaking about things you know little to nothing about.

@ClaireCoutinho Open AI needs to secure and pay for its own energy. We are not here to subsidise foreign firms to make money and pay no tax. These data centres do not create many jobs anyway.

🚨We just lost on our share of $500 billion of AI investment because of our insane energy prices. We cannot afford to miss the growth opportunities from the industries of the future. Yet Labour are doubling down and locking us into higher energy prices for longer. We are the only party with a Cheap Power Plan that would cut costs for households AND businesses.

@PolitlcsUK Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and others don't need late-night youth clubs to stop knife crime (it's not even an issue) and neither did the UK until the last 1 or 2 decades...

@FlameCrypto @sentdefender It also sets an awful precedent. If Iran can charge ships passing the Strait of Hormuz, why couldn't the UK and/or France do the same in the English Channel? Same logic for the Strait of Gibraltar or the Torres Strait...

Trump says he is "blowing up the whole country" if Iran does not reach a deal. Power plants, bridges, the lot. Possibly even desalination plants. Assuming this is not yet another panicked bluff, such actions would undeniably constitute war crimes. In which case, the relationship between other countries and the US must surely fundamentally alter. How could any nation maintain normal relations with a regime committing such egregious war crimes? How could the king's state visit still go ahead? It would be inconceivable.
Rachel Scott@rachelvscott

Spoke with President Trump. He told me the conflict should be over in days, not weeks but if no deal is made he’s blowing up the whole country with “very little” off the table. "If happens, it happens. And if it doesn't, we're blowing up the whole country,” he said. I asked if there’s anything off limits. “Very little,” he said.

@PaulEmbery @barnsleybitter You didn't say it, but quite obviously implied it, since you don't think a foreign nation trying to murder Brits is an attack. You're a grown man calling someone a "Trump cultist" because they said something you disagree with. I think you need to grow up and act your age.

@MolinesPinto @PaulEmbery Or you can refrain from speaking about things you know nothing about? The US has 100,000 military personnel in Europe, dozens of navy vessels, 200+ aircraft, AEGIS, JSTARS, satellites, and AWACS. Then we have BMEWS, the F-35 program, Trident, Patriot, THAAD, etc.

@PaulEmbery @barnsleybitter If you can't understand that a nation state initiating terror attacks in the UK against British citizens, whether they are political opponents or not, should not be treated as a simple crime, then you are beyond help. Your hate for Trump turns you into a ridiculous person.

@PaulEmbery How could any nation maintain normal relations with a regime committing such egregious war crimes? Because in the real world, the US subsidises UK and European defence to the tune of several hundred billion $ a year and the last time I checked, we were broke with stagnant GDP.
