NEW: A CIA official tells me @NewsNation that CIA Dir. Ratcliffe traveled to Havana today. I am told that he went to deliver President Trump's message "that the United States is prepared to seriously engage on economic and security issues, but only if Cuba makes fundamental changes." "During the meeting, Director Ratcliffe and Cuban officials discussed intelligence cooperation, economic stability, and security issues, all against the backdrop that Cuba can no longer be a safe haven for adversaries in the Western Hemisphere.” Director Ratcliffe met with Cuban officials, including Raulito Rodriguez Castro, Minister of Interior Lazaro Alvarez Casas, and the head of Cuban intelligence services in Havana, the official said.

Following a U.S. government plane seen leaving Havana, Cuba, CBS has learned that CIA Director John Ratcliffe visited Cuba to meet with his Cuban counterpart in the Ministry of the Interior. Topics of discussion included Cuba’s designation as a state sponsor of terrorism (SST) and recent comments by top U.S. officials that Cuba poses a national security threat.

Following the bilateral U.S.-China talks in Beijing, China earlier today, the White House has released a statement saying that the two delegations discussed issues such as market access into China, Chinese investment in U.S. industries, drugs, specifically fentanyl, the “free flow” of trade through the Strait of Hormuz, and other key issues.
